Attempting to decide which film you like the best from A List and Mega Super Star Julia Robert’s movie library is like picking the boldest and brightest poppy in a magical field full of them.
You just can’t.
Julia has run the range from the serious year 2000 socially penetrating Erin Brockovich to the fun and flighty romantic comedy Pretty Woman, which grossed US $464 million worldwide.
Thus, in a crowded Julia Robert’s poppy field, red, brilliant and bright, we’ve decided to turn to television. Yes she’s done outstanding work there too.
Empire is the 201st episode of NBC‘s legal drama Law & Order, and the 20th episode of the 9th season. Julia stars as a beautiful woman who is not who she appears to be and after a businessman is murdered, caught with his pants down, literally, Julia’s character mind melds Detective Rey Curtis into confusion under her sensuous spell.
It’s easy for Julia to do.
Cast you under her spell that is.
That’s one of the reasons why the global luxury beauty brand Lancôme sought her out as a Brand Ambassador.
Their story is a unique one.
Lancôme has epitomized beauty and glamour with a quintessential French touch. Women seeking the finest in beauty look to Lancôme for the highest quality in skincare, encased in timeless style and delivering scientifically proven results. The brand continues to strengthen its reputation as a makeup authority and skincare innovator, not merely keeping pace, but surpassing expectations by continually taking science and creativity to new levels.
Julia Roberts has the ability to take them to a whole different level.
They are aware of that as they introduce her with praise at lancome-usa.com. “Julia Roberts, recognized around the world for her infectious smile and girl-next-door coolness, joined the Lancôme family as an ambassadress in early 2010.
“It’s kind of like every girl’s dream, really, to be 42 and have three kids and be a working mom,” says Roberts. “It’s a great moment to be asked to do this and to be able to do it. I think it says a lot about Lancôme and what they stand for.”
The mega-star launched her partnership with Lancôme as the face of the brand’s most technologically advanced foundation, Teint Miracle Lit-from-Within Makeup. These advertisements were widely seen in both print and on television.
Julia Roberts is a true Hollywood icon, with an enduring and dazzling career.
Today, the Lancôme ambassadress is a married mom to three young children. She remains Hollywood’s royalty, with the ability to draw audiences to movie theaters. Most recently, Julia starred alongside Javier Bardem in the anticipated movie version of “Eat, Pray, Love,” the bestselling book written by Elizabeth Gilbert.
Lancôme is honored to have this star in its family and looks forward to a long and fruitful partnership.”
The line Julie promotes, “La Vie Est Belle,” which translates to “life is beautiful,” showcases the inner and outer beauty the actress possesses and you possibly can too.
The vibrant entertainment site eonline.com shares, “James Gray, who directed the advertisement, describes Julia as a timeless beauty with “Rare vitality and enticing gentleness.” As he says in a press statement, The Julia you see in the city is the same as you see on screen: divine and completely genuine.”
Elegant.
Exquisite.
Timeless.
Julia Roberts makes choosing look too easy.
As a beautiful woman yourself, do you find it challenging to pick out the perfume just perfect for you? Is it like picking the most brilliant poppy in a field of red dreams?
We’ve invited a guest female writer to pick a bouquet just perfect for you. Please enjoy.
How To Shop For The Best Perfumes – For Women
I found that there are five basic steps you need to consider when perfume shopping, so here they are for your perfume delight and delectation…
1) “This is going to take some time… “
Yes, perfume shopping is something that needs to be savored, enjoyed and definitely not rushed. Set aside a good portion of time in the day for you to check out your local perfume department stores and smaller fragrance stores. Try to keep an open mind when you see a perfume that perhaps your friend has dismissed and don’t judge a perfume by its packaging. You’re going to have to rely on your nose for this shopping expedition, not your eyes.
2) Before you start perfume shopping, decide on your budget
Shopping for a fragrance can cost you as little as $50 or as much as $5000 (yes, there are perfumes with those kind of price tags!), so it is important to decide your budget before you even step foot in a perfume shop. Firstly, decide if your fragrance is going to be for everyday use, or just for special occasions? Are you looking for a celebrity name perfume, or simply a well-known brand? Which season is your perfume for? Sometimes it is nice to have a fresher and lighter perfume for the hotter summer months and perhaps a more subtle fragrance for autumn and winter.

Understand the different concentrations of perfume available
Perfumes come in three distinct categories which tell you about the concentration of the perfume oils in the bottle. The most concentrated, and therefore most expensive, perfume is known as ‘Parfum’ and you won’t need to use a lot of it, so it should last longer. Parfum has a concentration of between 15% and 22% of the fragrance oils. Next is ‘Eau de Parfum’ with a concentration of between 8% and 15% – quite a popular choice for many women. Lastly, and least expensive of the three concentrations, we have ‘Eau de Toilette’ or ‘Eau de Cologne’. With a concentration of between 3% and 8%, a spray of this perfume will give you and people around you just a hint of the scent to tantalize the nasal senses. Eau de Toilette is of course the least expensive option, but you many need to use more of it than the other more concentrated preparations.

Time to get your nose working
So you’re in the perfume store. It’s time to start smelling some fragrances by spraying some sampler bottles of each perfume onto those funny bits of white cardboard. They’re called ‘swatches’ – rather like color swatches, but for smelling. Try to dry the perfume on the swatch before smelling (don’t touch), as the fragrance will change subtly as the minutes go by. After several minutes you will smell the ‘base notes’ rather than the initial ‘top notes’. Ah, now we’re getting technical. The fragrance’s base notes are the scents that will become more apparent as you wear perfume through the day. If you’re really up for being prepared, take a small container of coffee beans with you. Take a whiff of the beans to ‘reset’ your nose before smelling the next perfume – it’s a trick that works. Keep going and you should be able to narrow down your search to perhaps just three or four fragrances.
-
Time for some real skin
Hopefully you have now managed to select a handful of perfume candidates? Now is the time to spray a little on your wrist. Let it dry naturally without rubbing and have a whiff. Oh, by the way, top tip: Don’t wear any fragrance when you go perfume shopping for obvious reasons. It’s also wise to avoid eating spicy or hot food beforehand as your nose won’t be as sensitive as it usually is.
Hope you found some or all of these ‘perfume pointers’ enlightening. The best perfume for you is out there, and it will just take a little preparation and patience to find it! Happy perfume shopping!
