Gifts come in all forms and though the power of some may not be fully valued early on, over time one realizes how special the gift was.
God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well.….Voltaire
As a DWW fan when I watched Jana W. wrestle, often in overwhelming situations, over time my appreciation for her beauty and effort grew with each experience.
A blonde beauty with a petite frame, Jana decided to give wrestling a try and eventually qualified for the DWW One team. Her resume includes numerous bouts with Anni, rounded out with Pia, Lexi, Mariella, and her trainer Eva N.
Here are a few of Jana’s potentially arduous matches that she had to struggle through.
“Anni has a slight advantage in weight, while Jana has a slight advantage in experience. This match is pins and submissions, and you will see both. However, Anni’s fans will be happy to learn that we will finally see Anni use her sculpted, muscular legs as she traps Jana in a body scissors. How long will Jana be able to tolerate Anni’s awesome legs?”
And another.
“Jana is very confident going into this match, as seen in the opening interview. And she should be: She is facing a newcomer. However, it is evident from the opening takedown what kind of opponent she is up against. It is very interesting to watch Jana’s face throughout the first fall. In it, you will see how she feels about Lexi!
Lexi is a new wrestler in her first match ever. When you see her wrestling then you’ll not believe us that this is her first match, but the quality and speed she wrestles just proves how good and experienced the basic DWW training for newcomers is and of course it also proves what an exceptional talent Lexi really is. Jana W. is currently our weakest wrestler in that team and we thought that she would be an ideal opponent for a newcomer her size. We were wrong. We should have given Lexi the best opponent we’re having available in her size. She’s incredible. You’ll have to watch her to believe what she did to Jana in this pins only match. We’re just glad for Jana W. that this was only a pins only match since ultra-strong, quick and aggressive Lexi would have probably been too dangerous for her in a submission match.”
Jana clearly had her challenges but one of the reasons we love Jana so much is that she didn’t quit. She fought through injuries and tough loses against brand new opponents but always put up a good fight.
She practiced what we preach. You don’t have to be a champion to enjoy women’s wrestling. So much is about the competition, the effort you are willing to put into the match and the life lessons learned.
It’s appropriate when you examine the history of beautiful Jana’s name, it means in Hebrew a gift from God.
The well respected naming site sheknows.com deepens our appreciation for Jana. “People with this name have a deep inner desire for love and companionship, and want to work with others to achieve peace and harmony. They are also competent, practical, and often obtain great power and wealth. They tend to be successful in business and commercial affairs, and are able to achieve great material dreams. Because they often focus so strongly on business and achievement, they may neglect their private lives and relationships.”
There is so more to Jana than meets the eye.
Jana and her contemporaries wrestled by the mighty Danube River and just as Jana’s name is rich in history, so is the mighty Danube.
FCI loves to repeat how the global women’s wrestling industry can serve as a tour guide, teacher and vehicle to expand the mind while learning about history.
What are some of the historical gifts that the Danube has brought to the world over time?
We probably learned in 7th grade geography that the three most important rivers of Europe are the Rhine, the Rhone, and the Danube. Unfortunately for most Americans our knowledge and understanding of world geography stopped with those kinds of simple, unconnected facts.
As explained by Mr. Rick Price, PHD, “The Danube rises in Germany’s Black Forest, flows through the heartland of Austria, forms the border with Austria and Slovakia, then Slovakia and Hungary, before flowing through Hungary, into Croatia and Serbia, to then form the boundary between Serbia and Romania, then Romania and Bulgaria, where it finally empties into the Black Sea.
Over the centuries the Danube has been less important as an economic corridor than the Rhone or the Rhine, but is has been one of the most significant cultural and historic boundaries in Europe. During Roman times the Danube River was the northernmost boundary of the Roman Empire and as late as 454 AD the full length of the Danube formed the boundary between a crumbling Roman Empire and the barbarian invaders from the steppe lands of Ukraine and Central Asia.”
The informative site romaniatourism.com expands on this European fluid gift. “The mighty Danube River, named by the Greek historian Herodotus “The King of the European Rivers,” forms much of Romania’s southern border. The Danube enters the territory of Romania at the famous Iron Gates (Portile de Fier) and ends its 670 mile journey through the country in the Black Sea.
Before meeting the Black Sea, the Danube forms one of the most spectacular wetlands in the world. The Danube Delta – a unique 2,100-square-mile wildlife reserve – home to more than 300 species of birds and about 160 kinds of fish, both fresh and salt-water species.”
What if you gave someone a gift, and they neglected to thank you for it – would you be likely to give them another? Life is the same way. In order to attract more of the blessings that life has to offer, you must truly appreciate what you already have.…..Ralph Marston
The wonderful quality of the Danube is that it is not only a gift that gives while it is alive but one that keeps giving.
Jana’s wrestling along the Danube region was a gift, even in defeat. She was an erotic, feminine, athletic beauty full of heart. The fact that we are speaking of her today demonstrates that her wrestling was a gift that keeps giving.
