There are some who evolve and through their great and powerful works influence the lives of people around the world for decades to come.
George Bernard Shaw (26 July 1856 – 2 November 1950) was a Nobel-Prize-winning Irish playwright, critic and passionate socialist whose influence on Western theater, culture and politics stretched from the 1880s to his death in 1950, who at 94 was one of the world’s most famous men.
Here are some of his famous quotes.
“Some men see things as they are and ask why. Others dream things that never were and ask why not.
A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.
Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.
Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.
Patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all other countries because you were born in it.”
His thoughts are profound and right on the mark. There is another that he made that mostly seems on the mark except that he never met Deonna Purrazzo.
He also said that, “Youth is wasted on the young.”
Our beautiful New Jersey Princess is proof that at least sometimes…….it is not.
Like a women’s wrestling junkie looking for a new fix, the latest star, the newest it girl; Femcompetitor Magazine is often surveying the Indie Circuit looking for a Fem Competitor who can make the transition from the lady pro world into the female submission wrestling world.
Deonna Purrazzo has that ability and more.
Watching her wrestle is an enjoyable exercise in non-stop energy.
Two of her matches against Debbie Kane displayed jaw breakers, a foot to the throat, elbow drops, snap mares and more. Slender and gorgeous, Deonna plays the ham with plenty of pork. She plays to the irritation to the crowd with perfection.
The crowd was summarily rooting for Debbie with shouts of break her arm! Get off the ropes! Unfazed, Deonna defeated her with flair.
What is more amazing as of this writing is how young Deonna is. She’s only 21 and has been in the business for two years but is clearly a rising star.
The young athlete who aspires to greatness, generally speaking, learns a number of things from several different coaches. The first one taught him the fundamentals; the second one instilled discipline in him and taught him more of the techniques that must be mastered to excel.…..Zig Ziglar
The great wrestling information site prowrestling.wikia.com supplies us with Deonna’s foundation. “Deonna trained at D2W Professional Wrestling Academy during December 2012. Deonna made her mainstream wrestling debut during the May 10th taping of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, in a losing singles match against Brooke.”
She has entertained with TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling), Jersey championship Wrestling and Victory Pro Wrestling to name a few.
The informative site squaredcirclesirens.com adds, “Deonna Purrazzo is a Professional Wrestler based out of the Jefferson, New Jersey area.
She got her start in professional wrestling back in 2012 when she attended the D2W Wrestling academy in Wharton, New Jersey under the tutelage of the head trainers Damian Adams and The Jersey Devil as well as Robbie E and Shawn Bennett.
After training for a year and a half at the school Deonna Purrazzo got the opportunity to wrestle for TNA Wrestling at one of the company’s one night only pay per view events; Knockouts Knockdown II.
After wrestling at Knockouts Knockdown Deonna traveled to Louisville, Kentucky to train under Rip Rogers and has been used as one of Adam Rose’s Rosebuds on WWE TV a handful of times even getting the opportunity to work a match for WWE talent scout William Regal.
She has also made a name for herself on the independent scene wrestling in promotions such as WXW, JCW, and most recently debuting for the promotion Valkyrie Women’s Professional Wrestling.”
According to her video interviews, Deonna attends college majoring in Exercise Science, Physical Education, and Personal Training.
Her signature match was with Brooke Tessmacher on pay per view television.
Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.…..Henry Ford
What about her personal life?
Given what’s on her plate does she even have a personal life?
In an online interview she expressed that her life is so busy with schooling and wrestling that often her friends want to have fun on the weekends but Deonna is busy with her career.
She does have time to relax on Sundays and watch movies with her boyfriend. One of her favorite films is Martin Scorsese’s The Departed.
Very good choice. Have you seen it?
Let’s get inside Deonna’s head.
The entertaining review site rottentomatoes.com lays the foundation. “Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a young cop looking to make a name for himself in the world of law enforcement. Collin Sullivan (Matt Damon) is a street-smart criminal who has successfully infiltrated the police department with the sole intention of reporting their every move to ruthless syndicate head Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson).
When Costigan is assigned the task of working his way into Costello’s tightly guarded inner circle, Sullivan is faced with the responsibility of rooting out the informer before things get out of hand. With the stakes constantly rising and time quickly running out for the undercover cop and his criminal counterpart, each man must work feverishly to reveal his counterpart before his identity is exposed by the other.”
Very exciting and tense.
To seal the review we turn to the master, Roger Ebert who expressed, “The Departed” is about two men trying to live public lives that are the radical opposites of their inner realities. Their attempts threaten to destroy them, either by implosion or fatal betrayal. The telling of their stories involves a moral labyrinth, in which good and evil wear each other’s masks.
The story is inspired by “Infernal Affairs” (2002) by Alan Mak and Andrew Lau, the most successful Hong Kong film of recent years.”
Very good choice Deonna.
Our shooting star is from Jefferson, New Jersey.
Jefferson Township is the northernmost township in Morris County, New Jersey.
As of the 2010 United States Census, the township’s population was 21,314, having increased by 1,597 (+8.1%) from the 19,717 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,892 (+10.6%) from the 17,825 counted in the 1990 Census.
Jefferson Township was formed as a township by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 11, 1804, from portions of Pequannock Township and Roxbury Township.
The township was named after Thomas Jefferson, the President of the United States at the time the Township was created.
It’s educational to learn a little bit about our history and encouraging to see a small town girl have her bigtime dreams being realized. Jefferson is not just about history. There is some great recreation there as well.
The enticing recreational site tomahawklake.com invites us to visit. “Tomahawk Lake is celebrating their 63rd spectacular year entertaining parents and children alike.
The parks grounds are situated on 200 breathtaking acres that come complete with everything a family could ask including an 18-hole miniature golf course, rustic outdoor beer garden featuring live music on the weekends, Souvenir shops, Softball field, horse-shoe and volleyball areas, an old fashioned picnic area with more than 800 tables and New Jersey’s largest white sand beach featuring an incredible 20-acre lake!”
Maybe one day Deonna will take us on a tour. I’m sure ready to go!
Deonna has expressed during interviews that she wants to be remembered for sticking to who she is, her beliefs, humility, remaining positive, not let the industry’s politics make her become bitter and providing mind blowing and incredible entertainment.
The capacity of young people to persevere, even under the most adverse conditions, never ceases to amaze me.….Jane Fonda
We would love the day that Deonna would consider fully competitive submission wrestling. We are certain she would be great at it. She seems to excel at everything that she puts her mind to.
Youth wasted on the young?
We know Mr. Shaw was speaking in generalities because Deonna Purrazzo is proof that hard work, creativity and a strong pursuit of your dreams demonstrates that a youth which is blooming with endless possibilities is the power of the young.
