When the volcanoes Mount Vesuvius near ancient Pompeii and Mount St. Helens in modern Washington State erupted, some lost their lives because they had fallen prey to the most powerful false human protection system known to man.
Mount Vesuvius
Denial.
It’s still possible that powerful false protection system continues to be heavily armed at this moment, red light flickering. Let’s perhaps try a test by asking you as a reader a simple question.
Do you believe global warming is real?
If you answered no, have you been reading or watching the news lately?
One of the effects of global warming is the melting of the massive glaciers which in turn is causing rising sea levels. According to the valuable news source ibtimes.co.uk, “About 1,500 islands in Indonesia are threatened by the rising sea levels and are considered at high or extreme risk.
The islands will be under water by 2050, according to a latest report in The Strait Times.
The report suggests that Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, which is about 5km from the seafront and serves Indonesian capital Jakarta, will be wiped off the map by 2030.
By 2050, northern districts of the capital will turn into lakes.”
This is supported by delawareonline.com which shares, “Never underestimate our human ability to deny reality when it is painful to accept it.
A study by researchers at NASA and the University of California at Irvine found that “a rapidly melting section of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet appears to be in an irreversible state of decline, with nothing to stop the glaciers in this area from melting into the sea.” The study based on 40 years of observations, estimates these glaciers contain enough ice to raise global sea levels by 4 feet and are melting faster than previously expected.”
If you go to your favorite search engine and type in global warming and rising sea levels you might be shocked to find how many once inhabited islands are now permanently underwater.
Denial is powerful.
Denial is probably one of the best known defense mechanisms, used often to describe situations in which people seem unable to face reality or admit an obvious truth.
What is an obvious truth in the female submission wrestling industry that is saturated with beautiful clear skinned, wrinkled free fetish models and sensuous young starlets?
All of you are getting older.
Are you preparing for the day when your looks cannot command the same financial rewards as they are doing in your youth?
This is not a question musing if you are preparing for retirement. That is an entirely different discussion which for the very fortunate can begin at 55 or the moderately blessed at age 62.
There are a lot of days in between your thirties and those AARP milestones.
I say thirties because that’s the yard stick that has been used in science and brutally applied in the high fashion modeling industry as a turning point for income decline based upon beauty.
The Daily Mail Reporter shed a revealing light on the fresh face deadlines. “As Victoria’s Secret Angel, Miranda Kerr, fields rumors that her million-dollar contract won’t be renewed, just two weeks before her 30th birthday, it seems a model’s commercial marketability is increasingly short-lived.
Looking back at some of the brand’s most famous Angels, like Gisele Bunchden who stepped down from the lingerie giant at 26, the average age of retirement for an Angel appears to be just 28.375, according to Buzzfeed.
The analysis was based on eight models, including Laetitia Casta, who ended her time as an Angel at age 21, Tyra Banks, who was 32 when she clipped her wings, Izabel Goulart, who was 24 and Selita Ebanks, who was 27.”
“The world’s biggest power is the youth and beauty of a woman”………………Chanakya
I’ve had a chance to wrestle some talented female stars and they often say in horror to not mark or bruise certain body parts because they have a modeling shoot later in the day and the producers are looking for clear skin perfection.
The other factor about aging is the inevitable aches, pains and physical breakdown. When I saw Julie Ginther at Femwin’s June 2014 Las Vegas event, she was very candid about her physical concerns and may consider retiring. That would be a great loss for us all.
If you are willing to face the future, it’s nothing to be afraid of especially if you begin to plan for it.
The primary focus is economics. Is it possible to get some online schooling or volunteer in a skilled industry to gain experience that can pad your future resume? That approach will allow you to continue to make as much money as you can at present while preparing for the inevitable.
How much money are you putting aside every month? There is a common sense expression that appears to be timeless. It’s not how much you make but how much you spend. Yes, I’ll get around to it many say, but maybe now is the time to start.
Can you buy a house or Condo? I read on her Twitter that Kymberly Jane bought a home and Lucky O’Shea bought a condo. Good for them.
That alone is a powerful savings account. If you put them on a 10 or 15 year loan, never refinance and keep it at a payment you can afford, even if you never sell them, when done you’ll have no rent or house payment. Since you have to pay rent anyway is it possible to focus on perfecting your credit and buying a reasonably priced property?
This is a little more difficult to fathom but still might be practical. Do you have an extremely close friend who is reliable and willing to be a co-owner with you so instead of splitting the rent roommate style, how about splitting a payment partner style?
What’s the point? Please don’t get paranoid but by all means please don’t be in denial either and if you haven’t started making concrete plans for a post thirty reduced income, even if you are aware of its approach, talk about it but do nothing about it, you’re still in denial.
No matter what your age, please start taking steps today to write down a plan and prepare for the day your beauty fades.
So many ladies in our great sport are absolutely beautiful but also please be mindful of a very wise proverb.
Beauty is the strangest gift ever given, because at some point, you have to give it back.
