Each decade has songs that are just so special.
The Romantics are an American rock band often put under the banner of power pop and new wave from Detroit, Michigan, United States, formed in 1976.
They were influenced by 1950s American rock and roll, Detroit’s MC5, The Stooges, early Bob Seger, Motown R&B, 1960s North American garage rock as well as the British Invasion rockers.
They had some mind blowing hits like Talking In Your Sleep, What I like About You and an all-time favorite entitled One In A Million.
The Czech Republic sensation Akela is a Fight Pulse wrestler who is One In A Million.
Right from the first time that we saw her wrestle Xena, we knew that she was a diamond ready to shine. Even in her first match she really took it to the more experienced Xena.
The Czech Republic seems to be producing one super star female athlete after another.
Karolina Plíšková has won six singles and five doubles titles on the WTA tour, as well as ten singles and six doubles titles on the ITF circuit in her career. On 12 September 2016, she reached her best singles ranking of world number 6. On 29 August 2016, she peaked at world number 12 in the doubles rankings.
Karolina plays an extremely aggressive style, highlighted by her powerful, accurate serve as well as forceful groundstrokes. Our Czech star utilizes these, often in tandem with her net play, to extract errors from opponents or win points outright.
Her run at the 2016 US Open was nothing short of amazing.
Her improvement and stellar results as well as her reported over $4,500,000 in prize money allows her to live in Monte Carlo.
Now that’s what self-improvement will do for you.
Akela has just completed the Fight Pulse 2016 Light Weight Championship and made it to the championship round.
This gorgeous Euro Princess is so very special.
(Akela right)
Who would have thought back on February 2015 when she debuted? Let’s walk down memory lane.
“In her first competitive female wrestling match for Fight Pulse, Akela (5′ 8″, 136 lb, 24 yo) is pitted against a bigger and more experienced opponent, Xena (5′ 11″, 161 lb, 27 yo).
Akela is a fast learner, as we witnessed during the 90-minute training that she had before the match.
Furthermore, years of dancing and active fitness have prepared her body for physical challenges. Xena is a big and tough girl with kickboxing background.
Discussing the possible outcome of the match before the shoot we were almost sure that this match will be one-sided, and Xena, being the more experienced and powerful of the two, will be victorious.
But we were wrong.
Akela displayed tremendous determination and will-power to not only hold her own, but dominate the much heavier opponent most of the fight. Despite suffering a sprained ankle during one of Xena’s assaults, Akela, to everybody’s surprise, decided to continue the match, and outwrestled and pinned Xena, notwithstanding the obvious handicap.
This match is a two-way intense battle of confident and strong women with an undisputed winner – a must see for fans of competitive female wrestling action. Look out for rib-crushing body scissors from both sides, as well as pins to the count of ten full of intense struggles.”

Part of Akela’s improvement is that she wrestles a ton. This is why before the tournament began, Femcompetitor Magazine predicted that she would emerge as the champion.

Self-improvement is about many things, including hard work, self-analysis and simply put, doing the road work by competing over and over and over and over to gain more experience.
We have been inspired by Akela’s 2015-2016 performance.

Change Your Life – Unlock the Power of Self Improvement
Sometimes we reach a point in our life when we are ready for change and self-improvement. Things aren’t going so well for us, or painful or disappointing events seem to keep repeating themselves in our lives. You know what I mean; things like continually choosing the wrong partner or the wrong job, or maybe it’s just the feeling that you are stuck in a rut with nothing exciting to look forward to on the horizon. You begin to think, “I need something more in my life,” and you start looking everything related to self-improvement. It seems that the only time we think of self-improvement is when everything in our life seems to be falling apart, or getting worse, or you feel stagnant, unmotivated and unhappy. Then your mind fills with thoughts like, “What can I really do to change my life and make things better?”
There is a lot you can do to initiate self-improvement in your life and I am one who believes that once you begin making changes, really positive things start happening in your life. It only takes making one move, one action to bring about beneficial changes into your life. Self-improvement starts with you, and if you are sitting around waiting for something remarkable to happen to you without making changes, you will be waiting a very long time and never see results.
The key to self-improvement is knowing your own self, and understanding how you got where you are, and where you want to go. Inevitably changes will happen in our lives whether we like it or hate it. At some time, we will all experience several turning points in our life. We can choose to sit around and watch as the world goes by, or we can unlock our self-improvement power not because someone told us it is mandatory, but because you feel unhappy, unfulfilled and listless. That is a sign that you need to incorporate self-improvement in your life. When you continue to get the same unwanted results in your relationships, jobs, lack of money, addictions and in other areas of your life – that should send a signal to you that it’s time for change and self-improvement.
I hear people all the time complaining that they hate their life, their job, their partner, their weight and yet they choose to do nothing about it. I have no time for whiners who insist that the world owes them because somehow they think they deserve it, but do nothing to earn it. Even though they repeatedly get negative results in their relationships and endeavors, they just can’t accept that change begins with them. They need to do some self- evaluation and implement self-improvement in their life.
Be aware of the signals in your life and when you see the same warning signs over and over, take note and start making self-improvement. Don’t wait until none of your clothes fit anymore before adopting some self-improvement in a healthier lifestyle. You have a lot more chance of success when you see the first signs that there is a problem in different aspects of your life. If your favorite jeans seem to be getting harder to fasten up, then start to make improvements in your diet to lose unwanted pounds. The same principle applies to everything in your life. Don’t wait until you experience pain and hopelessness before applying the power of self-improvement.
Don’t wait until your world starts falling apart. Many of us do that because change isn’t always easy, but ignoring change only worsens the situation. There is no need to resist or fear change. Remember if you continue to do the same things in the same way, you will get the same results. So face it and do something about it. Self-improvement can be exhilarating and freeing. It can empower you. Making positive changes through self-improvement will lead to much more happiness, control and contentment in your life.
Self-improvement doesn’t mean you need to change everything in your life. Look at the areas that are not making you happy. For example if you need to lose a few pounds, join a gym or exercise class a few nights a week. Or buy a fitness CD, and grab a friend to work out together. Make it something that is fun and you will begin to look forward to self-improvement. If you lack confidence or you feel your communications skills are weak, there are so many resources to help you in those areas. There are literally hundreds of self-improvement books, courses, audio CD’s, and videos that can help you boost your confidence and help you understand how to communicate more effectively.
The beauty of self-improvement is, it is something you can do in the privacy of your own home with plenty of books, courses and CD’s that you can choose from. Carve out your own path and method to make empowering self-improvements.
When you start seeing the encouraging results that happen to you because you chose to unlock the power of self-improvement, you will soon realize that it’s only the beginning of a much happier road in your life that puts you in control.
