Most of the films of the English Director Gurinder Chadha explore the lives of female Indians living in England.
A common theme among her work is how they must reconcile their converging traditional and modern cultures. Although many of her films seem like simple quirky comedies about East Indian women, they actually address many social and emotional issues, especially ones faced by Indian women caught between two worlds.
She was once quoted as saying something that speaks to the power of the beautiful young Indie wrestler Hania. “My films do have a big following among young girls, and I want to instill confidence in them, a sense of self-appreciation – to make them feel they can be spirited and say what they feel.”
When you relax and enjoy the entertainment and athleticism of Hania the Howling Huntress, it’s hard not to be extremely impressed by her confidence and infusive spirit that permeates her wrestling and infuses the mood of the crowd.
The starting place is the creativity of her outfits.
Virtually all of the pretty Indie girls have a sense of their personal style but Hania takes it to another level by honoring the spirit of the great Hopi Indian nation.
Years ago this writer had the honor of spending time on the Hopi Indian reservation in Arizona and found it to be a very quiet and powerfully memorable experience.
At her Twitter account Hania explains at least part of her thinking. “Hania is Hopi for Spirit Warrior. Pro wrestler. She Wolf. Wild thing. The journey is within. Howl at the moon.”
“I like characters. I like spirited characters whether they exist in fiction or real life. Whether they’re the invention of artistic people or directors, musicians. I think music and art and fashion designers inspire me and I like characters.”…… Marc Jacobs
Her journey throughout the lady pro wrestling world is a captivating one.
Born Tamara McNeill on July 19 of 1990, Hania is a regular performer on the New Jersey-based Women Superstars Uncensored promotion.
Hania debuted for Women Superstars Uncensored as a masked wrestler under the name Saturyne at Full Steam Ahead on October 13, 2012, where she defeated Niya Barela to earn a spot on the WSU roster.
Her long list of credits and accomplishments can be found at: http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/bios/h/saturyne/
One of our favorite matches was watching her compete against Indie super star Tessa Blanchard in a very spirited match. Yes it had body slaps, drop kicks, DD T’s and more. The girls have their moves choreographed wonderfully right up until the end.

Referring to herself as She Wolf and The Huntress, Hania made it clear she doesn’t care about Tessa’s wrestling blue blood past.
She’s wrestled many of the big names and up and coming stars in the Indie world like La Rosa Negra, Cherry Bomb and others with passion and spirit.
Hania was born in New York City. Great global city.
This is a spiritual quest.
It’s time to be spirited away to the Hopi Indian culture.
The enjoyable welcoming site arizonahandbook.com describes the region well. “Multihued desert hills, broad mesas, soaring buttes, vast treeless plains, and massive mountains give an impression of boundless space. All of northeastern Arizona lies atop the Colorado Plateau, which averages 4,500–7,000 feet in elevation.
Several pine-forested ranges rise above the desert near Arizona’s borders with Utah and New Mexico. Navajo Mountain, just across the border in Utah, stands as the highest peak in the area at 10,388 feet. Nearby you’ll find Rainbow Bridge, the world’s highest natural stone span over water. Monument Valley’s sheer-walled spires evoke awe farther east. The beautiful canyons in Navajo and Canyon de Chelly National Monuments shelter some of the Southwest’s best-preserved prehistoric dwellings.”
The Hopi are a Native American tribe, who primarily live on the 2,531.773 square miles of the Hopi Reservation in northeastern Arizona.
As of 2010, there were 18,327 Hopi in the United States, according to the 2010 census.
The Hopi language is one of the 30 of the Uto-Aztecan language family. The majority of Hopi people are enrolled in the Hopi Tribe of Arizona but some are enrolled in the Colorado River Indian Tribes. The Hopi are descended from the Ancient Pueblo Peoples.
Their names mean The Peaceful People or Peaceful Little Ones.
Hopi is a concept deeply rooted in the culture’s religion, spirituality, and its view of morality and ethics. To be Hopi is to strive toward this concept, which involves a state of total reverence and respect for all things, to be at peace with these things, and to live in accordance with the instructions of Maasaw, the Creator or Caretaker of Earth.
At their site hopi-nsn.gov, they briefly expand upon this concept. “Since time immemorial the Hopi people have lived in Hopitutskwa and have maintained our sacred covenant with Maasaw, the ancient caretaker of the earth, to live as peaceful and humble farmers respectful of the land and its resources. Over the centuries we have survived as a tribe, and to this day have managed to retain our culture, language and religion despite influences from the outside world.”
Having been to the reservation, this writer can verify that philosophy is truly applied.
Of note, scenic North Eastern Arizona has been home to many famous films including the timeless gem, Planet Of The Apes.
Hania is wise to base her character upon a region and group swelling with beauty.
“We’re spirited and spiritual… and fun follows us around.”………. Naomi Judd
Hania is with a great company and her future looks bright.
WSU is considered one of the top women’s wrestling organizations in the United States. The company claims to be “the leader in women’s wrestling in the northeast” and to promote more cards than any other women’s wrestling company in the country.
Given the exciting variety of Indie wrestlers that we have written about, it’s easy to agree with that proclamation.
Hania the Howling Huntress should be a must see on your to do list.
It you like creativity, passion, skill, athleticism, charisma and youthful beauty, her wrestling show is sure to spirit you away to an Arizona paradise.
