Of course we can be in love at any age but there is nothing like falling in love for the first time.
As the world turns towards the company ThirdLove based in vibrant San Francisco, love is in the air.
ThirdLove produces and sells bras, underwear, loungewear and nightwear. ThirdLove was the first bra and underwear brand to offer trademarked half cup sizing and a mobile app allowing women to measure themselves at home.
Previously many women found it difficult to find the perfect bra size and ThirdLove effectively solved that problem.
It also uses a technology referred to as Fit Finder which combines machine learning algorithms and customer feedback to select the best bra size.
ThirdLove was founded by husband and wife Heidi Zak and David Spector. They left their jobs and launched the company in a loft in downtown San Francisco in November 2013.
They successfully launched their bra line in the spring of 2014 with seven distinct styles.
Within three months, they identified “24/7” as their best style and discontinued producing the other six styles. In 2015, they found a manufacturing partner in China that was willing to include their proprietary design elements. As of late 2016, the company shipped approximately 50,000 bras a month. ThirdLove expanded into underwear, as well as lounge and sleepwear.
In June 2018, the company added 24 new larger sizes, selling out, due to a 1.3 million woman waitlist. As of October 2018, Forbes estimated ThirdLove to be worth $750 million and was placed on the Forbes Next Billion Dollar Startup List.
I think we would agree they have been incredibly successful and that is a testament to their willingness to adapt and focus on what women really want and truly need.

They are now starting to grab the attention of media power houses around the world. On August 24, 2018 at cnbc.com they smile, “ThirdLove has turned selling women’s intimates into a profitable business since its founding in 2013. ThirdLove CEO Heidi Zak attributes the waitlist of more than a million women waiting for one of its bras to the reason why the company decided to launch 24 new bra sizes this summer.”
Interesting. Women love this San Francisco fashion group so much they are literally waiting in line to buy their high in demand product.
This kind of popularity would make even the most humble become a little haughty but the team at ThirdLove is very warm, San Francisco fuzzy and friendly.
Time to visit their site. They welcome, “ThirdLove is committed to building a bra for every woman, regardless of her shape, size, age, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation. It was intimidating to take on an entrenched industry player, but I had to speak up for a woman’s right to define herself outside of the male gaze.
These days, women have an abundance of choices when it comes to which brands they support. We’ve made it a priority to give our customers what they want in both product and marketing.”
Everything they are saying makes perfect sense.
Their employees appear to love them too.
At the well-read employment review glassdoor.com one ThirdLove employee exclaims, “I have been working at ThirdLove full-time (Less than a year). We are changing the undergarment industry and making it focused on real women and celebrating them. You get the chance to own and drive projects that you would never get at a bigger company. Cool perks like free snacks, in-office massages, and you never know when the Today show or another major news outlet will be in the office.”

Have you heard of the organization The Unmentionables? We must admit the name sounds a little ominous which makes us more curious to find out about their purpose.
At theunmentionablesglobal.org they educate, “The Unmentionables provides forcibly displaced individuals and communities around the world with safe and consistent access to sexual and reproductive health education, services, protection, and empowerment programs, providing them the knowledge, tools, and skills to make well-informed decisions for their futures.
The products and programs we supply have the ability to protect refugees from disease, infection, and sexual and gender-based violence as well as help empower them through livelihood and learning opportunities. Sexual and reproductive health items, education, and protection are essential needs for all humans. However, these basics are among the most inconsistently provided during migration crises due to worldwide cultural taboos and limited funds. The Unmentionables exists to fill this gap and provide these necessities to displaced persons.”
Now we get the point of their vision and their dedication to acting upon it.
As many parts of the world have become so unstable, we cannot have enough organizations with the purpose and dedication like The Unmentionables.

Whether they be homeless, refugees, in transitional housing, or fleeing domestic violence, women and girls should never have to compromise on dignity.
Women and girls who find themselves homeless shouldn’t have to worry about finding bras, much less proper menstrual products. Yet they wear the same bra for years, potentially causing health problems, and each month have to make a choice between paying for meals or buying a box of tampons.”
It seems like such common sense and yet why does it not surprise us the in a world that seems to increasingly being comprised of the haves and have nots that this problem exists on a massive scale.
Here is something that we can all agree on.
Every woman should have the ability to maintain her dignity.
That is the mission of the I Support The Girls team.

On December 14, 2018 they made an important announcement. “In October, we partnered with supermodel and mom, Robyn Lawley, to demand change in how our industry markets to women. We could not allow our daughters to grow up believing that they need to look a certain way to be beautiful based on the advertising they see.”
