In an enchanted Kingdom with a proud and rich history where myriads of beautiful athletic Princesses abound, if you are young and new to the field, it’s really hard to stand out.
Unless you are Amy Tinkler.
Amy Tinkler is a British artistic gymnast. She is the 2016 Olympic floor exercise bronze medalist and the 2015 British all-around champion.
On 2016, Amy competed at the 2016 AT&T American Cup in Newark, New Jersey on 5th March 2016.
In July 2016, British Gymnastics announced that she had been selected as a member of the British team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. At age 16, she was the youngest member of Team Great Britain.
She was the second British woman, after Beth Tweddle, to win a gymnastics medal in Olympics history.
Now that is outstanding.
“Human beings are infinitely worth studying, especially the peculiarities that often go along with outstanding gifts.”… Paul Johnson

Amy is growing up right before our eyes.
In an exciting report on April 8, 2017, theguardian.com expressed, “As Amy Tinkler came center stage, a roar went up. The 17-year-old was placed fourth in the women’s competition at the World Cup of Gymnastics going into the final round, her favored floor event. But the cheer was not one of encouragement. This was London’s O2 arena, with a crowd of around 12,000 people who had come from across the country to watch gymnastics hit the big time. The roar was Beyoncé-sized.”
Now that is one loud cheer, but as you can see, Amy deserves it.
Not to be one dimensional, Amy seems to excel at everything.
Is there more praise? Of course there is.
The respected group chroniclelive.co.uk reveals, “Bronze medal winner Amy Tinkler is just as successful in her studies as she is at performing, according to her headmistress.
Despite training 31 hours a week in preparation for the games, Tinkler recently took a short break from competitions to focus on her school work and exams. She is due to collect her GCSE results from Durham High School for Girls when she returns from Brazil next week.
Headmistress Lynne Renwick says she is proud of Amy’s achievements, both on and off the gym floor.”
After taking a GCSE PE a year early in which she received an A, Amy expects stellar results in English, math and French.
In so many ways, the United Kingdom is very impressive.
Let’s visit the village that helped influence and shape young Amy.
Durham is a historic city and the county town of County Durham in North East England.
The city lies on the River Wear, to the west of Sunderland, south of Newcastle upon Tyne and to the north of Darlington.
Founded over the final resting place of St Cuthbert, its Norman cathedral became a center of pilgrimage in medieval England.
Yes, so much of the UK is filled with historical significance.
The cathedral and adjacent 11th-century castle were designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. The castle has been the home of Durham University since 1832.
There are some prominent locals that would like to welcome you. At thisisdurham.com they smile, “Durham is an amazing county in North East England, just three hours by train from London, and less than two from Edinburgh.
Explore our breathtaking scenery, discover award-winning attractions and enjoy world-class exhibitions, festivals and events. From city breaks to coast and countryside escapes – make Durham your next destination for a short break.
Step back in time at fascinating heritage attractions including Beamish, the Living Museum of the North, and see history come to life at Kynren – the must-see open air spectacular that takes place in Bishop Auckland every summer.
Seek out hidden gems in market towns and villages in the Durham Dales, relax and enjoy peace and tranquility on the Durham Coast, or get outdoors and active with walking and cycling routes revealing unforgettable views across the county.”
Present and past, we are very impressed.
A leader in the travel experience Lonely Planet punctuates, “England’s most beautiful Romanesque cathedral, a huge castle, and, surrounding them both, a cobweb of hilly, cobbled streets usually full of upper-crust students attending England’s third university of choice (after Oxford and Cambridge) make Durham an ideal day trip from Newcastle or overnight stop.”
What a wonderful village to emanate from and be influenced by.
Her friends have expressed that Amy is constantly smiling, her personality is sunny and she is always very calm.
In watching her perform to the song Pretty Woman, she had the crowd holding their breath as she calmly and brilliantly performed.
