Ascension to the position of the number one ranked player in the female tennis world is an incredible lifetime accomplishment especially when some people watch you positioning yourself to return serve and say to themselves, she’s too gorgeous, how can this be?
With the Danish beauty Caroline Wozniacki, it can be, it was, and maybe one day she will be number one again and no matter where her tennis journey takes her, we absolutely love going along for the ride.
It’s a sensuous global adventure.
At her Facebook page, 1,518,965 people follow her.
Caroline Wozniacki is a former world No. 1 player on the WTA Tour, having held this position for 67 weeks.
Beauty and talent. What a combination.
She was the first woman from a Scandinavian country to hold the top ranking position.
Caroline finished on top of the rankings in both 2010 and 2011.
Our Danish Princess has won 25 WTA singles titles, including six in 2010 and 2011, the most in a year by a WTA player from 2008–2011.
She was runner-up at the 2009 and 2014 US Opens and the 2010 WTA Tour Championships in Doha to Kim Clijsters. She won the 2006 Wimbledon Girls’ Singles title and also holds two WTA titles in doubles. In 2008, Wozniacki won the title of WTA Newcomer of the Year.
Ms. Wozniacki is the daughter of Polish immigrants, Piotr Wo?niacki and Anna Wo?niacka. Anna played on the Polish women’s national volleyball team and Piotr played professional association football. The couple moved to Denmark when Piotr signed for a Danish football club.
Her father is her coach and Caroline has learned much.
Caroline’s playing style centers on the defensive aspects of tennis with her anticipation, movement, agility, footwork and speed all first-rate and key parts of her game.
She also anticipate serves with aggressive footwork.
Her two-handed backhand is one of her best weapons as she is capable of turning defense into offense, most notably the backhand down-the-line. Her defensive playing style has her contemporaries label her a counter-puncher.
And all the while, we just can’t stop looking at her. It’s impossible not to.
Some professional female tennis players (probably not many) might not respect the beauty gazing aspect of this and hope that we would be a fan simply based upon their hard work and success (yawn) and with Caroline we do respect her success and prideful work ethic but we are so glad that Caroline seems to love having us salivate over her.
Our North Star appears to have never met a bikini or swimsuit that she doesn’t love and is extremely happy to have us view her in that attire as much as her tennis wear.
You should see her online Sports Illustrated photo shoots.
We love it when a beautiful girl realizes that you’re only young once and is not so uptight about showing her sensuous charm.
Sponsors are very aware of this and love partnering with her.
The exceptional Fashion Designer Stella McCartney is one of them.
As reported at businessinsider.com they announce, “Caroline Wozniacki has yet to win a Grand Slam tournament but she is a genuine star and one of the sport’s most recognizable faces making nearly $10 million a year in endorsement deals, according to the Wall Street Journal.”
At adidas.com they proclaim, “Break down barriers and unlock your potential with adidas by Stella McCartney. Innovative materials meet stunning design in a collection crafted for the fearless female athlete.”
Stella and Adidas certainly found the right fearless female athlete in Caroline.
At the very tender age of 10 years old Caroline called the German-based company Adidas herself and landed her first clothing deal.
Wow, talk about being aggressive at the financial net.
She wore her first ‘Adidas by Stella McCartney’ tennis dress at the 2009 US Open.
Another suitor desired to dance with her.
Babolat is a French tennis, badminton, and squash equipment company, headquartered in Lyon, best known for its strings and tennis racquets which are used by several top players.
Have you heard of them? Their motto is “Tennis runs in our blood”.
Among other things, what is so impressive about them is that their 2014 revenue came in a 1.412 billion EUR.
How long have they been in existence?
Since 1875.
Falling in love with beauties like Ms. Wozniacki is timeless.
On December 22, 2013 tennis.com confirmed, “After playing with a blacked-out racket for much of last season, Caroline Wozniacki has signed a new deal with Babolat.”
Caroline looks wonderful in a Rolex so naturally they wanted to partner with her as well.
She also worked with The Players’ Tribune which is a new media platform that provides content written by professional athletes. Founded by former professional Major League Baseball player Derek Jeter, The Players’ Tribune provides daily sports conversation and publishes first-person stories directly from athletes. Content ranges from videos to podcasts to player polls and written pieces.
Not known as shy, this forum is perfect for our star who speaks eight languages to promote.
When relaxing and soaking in Caroline Wozniacki interviews, one of the enjoyable aspects of the conversation is that she is very down to earth, speaks with a smile and is very forth coming.
It can make you feel like you’re relaxing at a restaurant or outside café and you could listen to her speak forever.
And what would be one of the topics we would love to discuss with her?
Her sexy photo shoots.
She was once quoted as sharing, “Very few women get asked to be in the swimsuit issue, and I’m really proud to be one of so many beautiful and empowering women.”
Since so many speak with her about her tennis and she even expressed it herself that she would love to be asked different questions than the ones that she hears over and over, we would approach her differently.
Let’s do get this one out of the way.
One last tennis question. When asked by ESPN about her ascension to number one she replied, with a smile of course, “I was always told that there’s no chance that a girl from Denmark can become a world-class tennis player,” Wozniacki said. “We’ve never had any women in the top 30. Every time I would say, ‘I want to be No. 1 in the world,’ people would just laugh at me. But I’ll find a way. I don’t take no for an answer.”
She did find a way.
Number one on the courts and in our hearts.
And she’s done that with a wonderful sense of humor, a wide bright smile, a great sense of style, elegance and incredible beauty.
