December 7, 2021,
Love is a two way street.
Not a one way Boulevard. Behave that way?
You could lose it on a lonely highway.
Love is about giving.
It is so refreshing when someone is willing to give us so much.
Mariah Carey has given all of us fans, so much.
Probably because she had a Vision of Love. Remember?
Prayed through the nights
Felt so alone
Suffered through alienation
Carried the weight on my own
Had to be strong
So I believed
And now I know I’ve succeeded
In finding the place I conceived
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you’ve given to me
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you’ve given me
What a moving, beautiful gift of a recording. Love was on the menu and we felt it.
Her resume is something to fall deeply in love with.
Mariah Carey is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer.
Known for her five-octave vocal range, melismatic singing style, and signature use of the whistle register, she is referred to as the “Songbird Supreme” and the “Queen of Christmas”.
Ms. Carey rose to fame in 1990 with her eponymous debut album. She was the first artist to have her first five singles reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100, from “Vision of Love” to “Emotions“.
Her debut album was released under the guidance of Columbia Records.
Carey achieved worldwide success with follow-up albums Music Box (1993), Merry Christmas (1994), and Daydream (1995). These albums spawned some of her most successful singles, including “Hero“, “Without You“, “All I Want for Christmas Is You“, “Fantasy“, “Always Be My Baby“, as well as “One Sweet Day“, which topped the US Billboard Hot 100 decade-end chart (1990s).
After eleven consecutive years charting a U.S. number-one single, Carey parted ways with Columbia in 2001 and signed a $100 million recording contract with Virgin Record.
100 million dollars is a lot of love.
With sales of over 200 million records worldwide, she is also one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), she is the highest-certified female artist in the United States, with 68.5 million certified album units tying with Barbra Streisand.
That is simply amazing. We love it.
Mariah has said that from childhood she has been influenced by Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, and R&B and soul musicians such as Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and Aretha Franklin.
Her music contains strong influences of gospel music, and she credits the Clark Sisters, Shirley Caesar and Edwin Hawkins as the most influential in her early years.
Our hit maker is a philanthropist who has been involved with several charitable organizations.
She became associated with the Fresh Air Fund in the early 1990s, and is the co-founder of a camp located in Fishkill, New York, that enables inner-city youth to embrace the arts and introduces them to career opportunities.
She donated royalties from her hits “Hero” and “One Sweet Day” to charities.
She has also worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
We have a wish and understandably, it has Mariah on the menu.
Given her star power, Mariah is in demand from organizations and corporations the world over.
If you are like us, there is a well-known and deliciously loved organization that now has Mariah on the menu.
With a vision of love.
