February 20, 2020,
Love it when good things do not go to waste. Even if they have been used before. Worn before.
Throw them away?
Why such waste?
Especially when there are high end retailers around the world who are opening the window of opportunity for once extremely expensive clothing to be washed, and instead of ending up in a land mine, be worn again.
Perhaps for years.
A German fashion retailer has come up with a better idea.
The leadership introduces themselves in English, “Infantium Victoria, founded 2014 by Julia Gaydina and Dinie van den Heuvel, specialises in the design of high-end organic and vegan fashion for kids.
Influenced by a deep fascination for romantic themes and nostalgia Infantium Victoria offers a true alternative to mainstream fast-fashion – not only aesthetically but also ethically.
At Infantium Victoria we deeply care for our children’s current wellbeing and are determined to help guarantee their future. This is why we use only organic materials and source, produce and distribute sustainably.
We deliver sophisticated yet practical designs that last – clothes full of individuality, bemused and inspiring at the same time.”
We’ve had a chance to view their clothing lines and they are indeed cutting edge and avant-garde.
Their designers Julia Gaydina and Dinie van den Heuvel both have a long history in fashion and a shared passion for it. They value a sustainable lifestyle and love functional yet elegant clothing.
We admire that.
Their unique designs are inspired by dark romanticism and a flippant attitude about fitting in, Infantium Victoria turns black green.
According to their marketing, every Infantium Victoria garment is 100% organic and PETA-approved vegan.
We sense that’s something that the royalty in American would approve of.
Apparently not the girl next door beauty Katie Holmes. According to the informative and fun site babygaga.com, “Katie Holmes shares on daughter, Suri, with her ex husband Tom Cruise. Ever since the little girl was a toddler, sources have been dishing about her lavish designer wardrobe, which seems to be a sign that Katie prefers to buy things new for her kiddo.
According to Daily Mail, Suri already had a wardrobe valued at $2 million when she was three as well as a $150,000 shoe collection – that’s as expensive as some people’s houses!”
We still love Katie but you know what? If that is true? There has to be another way.
Another royal family comes to our attention who might be second hand clothing friendly. Who are they?
The Kardashians of course.
Guess what? They have come up with the novel idea of selling the used clothing of their children on their gently used unique website.
At kardashiankloset.com they share, “Kardashian Kloset is the first luxury designer resale site featuring the Kardashian Jenner family’s fabulous and fun clothing! Each authentic item has been hand selected and is now available exclusively for the public to purchase here.”
Sound exciting.
Now admit it. There is a certain appeal to that notion. True?
The enjoyable fashion and entertainment team at pagesix.com explain, “Fans of the Kardashians with kids are in luck. The famous family has decided to sell off hand-me-downs from their own children on their personal resale website, Kardashian Kloset.”
We’re glad that concept is spreading. We all love to feel a little magic in our lives. From time to time feel upscale ourselves.
On October 4, 2019, wwd.com fashion and news added, “The Kardashian-Jenners are adding another fashion brand to their extensive portfolio — a clothing resale site.
On Sept. 29, Kris Jenner revealed on Instagram the launch of Kardashian Kloset, a new online store where customers can shop directly from the Kardashian-Jenner family’s designer closets.”
We hope that all goes well in that endeavor. Saving all types of clothing, high end or not, from polluting landfills is a very worthy cause and if you can make a profit too, so much the better.
Infantium Victoria appears to agree.
Take a look at what they are trying to accomplish in reusing their stylish garments.
Infantium Victoria Announces New Platform for Own Second-hand Clothing IV_PRELOVED
HANNOVER, Germany, Nov. 1, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Infantium Victoria’s sustainable luxury childrenswear is made to last. Unfortunately, our little clients grow out of them. Our garments would need to find new homes. It is beautiful to see heirloom quality products being passed in families and among the friends. But sometimes it’s just too much of a hustle. That is why, building commitment to sustainable fashion, Infantium Victoria introduces a new platform IV_PRELOVED for our quality second hand clothes.
Creative Director of Infantium Victoria, Dinie van den Heuvel explains: “Donating a garment seems to be a very common practice for kids wear, however those goods can easily end up in landfill. Of course, our organic plant-based products would make a great compost under certain conditions. But it would really be a waste! So much love is put into creating those precious pieces, so we want to make sure that Infantium Victoria clothing would be worn by multiple kids.”
IV_PRELOVED is a new section in brand’s own e-commerce shop. Infantium Victoria encourages all their customers to send their preloved kids wear back to the headquarters. As a thank you, each client will receive a 20% off voucher for their next purchase. Each garment received then will be inspected by staff, washed with natural detergents and repaired if necessary. Only products that passed this process are presented at designated are of webstore – IV_PRELOVED. Some of the clothes would come from photo shootings or sales sampling, meaning they are barely worn.
IV_PRELOVED also is a great chance to shop quality designer kids fashion at great prices. Sustainable fashion is sometimes perceived as a very luxurious product, making it almost inaccessible to certain groups. Infantium Victoria’s solution opens possibility to shop for quality heirloom pieces on a budget. Slow fashion garments will last beyond common high street brands. Choosing Infantium Victoria preloved garments is a great investment in preserving health and wellbeing of children and precious Earth’s resources.
Infantium Victoria is an award-winning luxury sustainable childrenswear, supplying finest vegan kids fashion since 2015. Available in selected brick-n-mortar stores, it sells globally over own online platform www.infantiumvictoria.com.
