In the opulent St. Petersburg of the Russian Empire period, Eugene Onegin is a jaded but dashing aristocrat – a man often lacking in empathy, who suffers from restlessness, melancholy and, finally, regret.
The exceptional movie reviewer Roger Ebert at rogerebert.com capsulizes it well. “Onegin is a man bemused by his own worthlessness. He has been carefully prepared by his aristocratic 19th century upbringing to be unnecessary–an outside man, hanging on, looking into the lives of others. Even when he’s given the opportunity to play a role after he inherits his uncle’s estate, his response is to rent the land to his serfs. In another man, this would be seen as liberalism. In Evgeny Onegin, it is more like indifference.”
Through his best friend Lensky, Onegin is introduced to the young beautiful and rural Tatiana. A passionate and virtuous girl, she soon falls hopelessly under the spell of the aloof newcomer and professes her deep love for him.
In a moment he would later deeply regret, Evgeny rebuffs her.
Years after traveling and wandering purposely our Aristocrat returns only to find out that Tatiana is now married to an…………Aristocrat. Military elite. After trying to woo a now married woman, when Evgeny finally confronts Tatiana to profess his love for her, she expresses words to him in question form that would forever haunt him. Regarding his sudden puzzling change in behavior she looks into his eyes and asks……
“Am I noble enough for you now?”
Newly found confidence is a powerful arrow in the frightening quiver of strong, beautiful young women.
Fem Competitor Magazine loves the look of the shapely model Nicole Le Bris.
We are not alone. The presenter of lovely curvy models, plussizemodelshq.com softly smiles, “Nicole Le Bris is a stunning plus size model. Nicole is represented by Dorothy Combs Models in Miami (her mother company), Model Service Agency in New York, Hughes Models in London, and Brigette Models in Germany.”
Another sexy site plusmodelmag.com concurs. “Plus Model Nicole Lebris is a classic beauty. Deep brown eyes accompanied by a soft and inviting smile.”
It’s understandable that this gorgeous blonde is so highly sought after. Just look at her. She is so confident.
She wasn’t always that way.
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’……….Eleanor Roosevelt
In an interview with plusmodelmag.com Nicole shares, “I was always a big, curvy girl. I was tall and very womanly early on. Middle and high school were not my favorite years. All the popular girls were small and cute, and I was called ‘ogre’ and ‘hulk’. I had very low self-esteem and was constantly yo-yo dieting. My mom and older women I met would warn me that things would turn around as I got older, and they did. I absolutely love my body now.”
Nicole?
We do as well.

What we also love is her new found confidence.
It’s on display once again when she is interviewed by the stylish site plushstyle.com. “When preparing for a shoot I always urge girls to bring what flatters their body type. Bring the basics, and layering pieces, but also bring some interesting items, maybe a structured jacket, or a bright color shirt, or a sweater with a big collar, and of course bring as much as possible. Better to have too much to choose from than too little.”
Very good advice.
At her linkedin.com page she speaks to her impressive resume. “I have been doing makeup/hair for twelve years and modeling for nine years. Modeling clients include Vanity Fair Intimates, Fruit of the Loom, Lane Bryant, Belk, Target, Catherines, Fashion Bug, Shopko, LEI, Jordache, and Jones NY. I am based in the greater NYC area (NJ) and Miami.”
Now that Nicole has become an international star, her confidence and fame have empowered her with the ability to make a difference in people’s lives, how they feel about their body image and those of our little furry friends as well.
A cause near and dear to our beautiful girl’s heart is the protection and care of homeless animals.
She is an advocate and volunteers for the Liberty Humane Society in Miami. They would like to briefly speak to you.
“Liberty Humane Society’s mission is to foster a community of compassion and respect, and provide animals in need with a chance at a lifelong, loving home.
We care for, treat, and find homes for thousands of animals every year. Rehoming animals who have nowhere else to go is one of the most urgent aspects of our mission, but our long-term goal is to build a community in which those services are no longer needed.
Through our low-cost public Wellness Clinics, Humane Education program, and surrender prevention services, our goal is to reduce the number of animals who enter the shelter and provide a higher quality of care for those who stay in their homes.”
The important animal rights organization, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (aspca) educates us on why groups like Nicole’s friends are so important.
- Approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.9 million are dogs and 3.4 million are cats.
- Each year, approximately 2.7 million animals are euthanized (1.2 million dogs and 1.4 million cats).
- Approximately 2.7 million shelter animals are adopted each year (1.4 million dogs and 1.3 million cats).
It’s wonderful that Nicole is using her celebrity for a great cause.
Wouldn’t you agree that Nicole has a very nice feel good story?
There is an important life lesson that our sympathetic character in our above 19th Century Russian tale learned the hard way. When you go through life, it’s extremely important not to look at people as they are. It’s more important to visualize who they can become.
Nicole is a beautiful example of that.
