Guilty consciences aside, you still have to move forward with something you know is insulting and a little dishonorable.
It’s like going to the dance with someone you moderately like and then look across the room at someone else who is absolutely spectacular.
Looking at your original dance partner you smile, “Could you excuse me for a moment?”
Sorry about that.
You never did that right?
Some people are so spectacular that when you meet them, it’s like there is no one else at the party.
We originally were going to write a story about another female MMA Fighter who shall forever remain nameless and during the course of our research we watched a video of her fighting Michelle Waterson.
Oops.
Wow! New dance partner! Ah, could you please hold my glass of punch and excuse me for a second?
The original girl’s story is for another day and time. Maybe.
Time to ask Michelle “The Karate Hottie” if she would like a glass of punch?
Talk about packing a punch.
Michelle E. Waterson (born January 6, 1986) is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
She is the former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion. As of February 10, 2017, she is ranked #7 in the UFC strawweight division.
Michelle was the #6-ranked pound-for-pound female MMA fighter in the world by MMARising.com and the #1-ranked Atomweight (105 lbs.) according to the Unified Women’s and Fight Matrix all by the end of 2013.
Most of us are familiar with The Ultimate Fighting Championships.
Invicta Fighting Championships, also known as Invicta FC, is an American professional mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion for female fighters based in the United States.
It was founded in 2012 by Janet Martin a former VP with MMA organization Blackeye Promotions and Shannon Knapp, who held positions at various levels, including executive positions with King of the Cage, World Fighting Alliance, International Fight League, Affliction Entertainment, UFC, and Strikeforce. It has a strategic partnership with fellow Japanese MMA promotion Jewels.
Good to know.
As of this writing Michelle’s has 14 victories and 4 losses.
Involved in karate since the age of 10, Michelle holds a black belt in American Free Style Karate and has also trained in WuShu, Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, boxing and wrestling.
Our star across the room rose to fame as a contestant on the Muay Thai-themed Fight Girls reality show on the Oxygen television network.
She was also featured as one of the fighters in the MTV/MTV2 reality show Bully Beatdown.
Michelle made her MMA debut on February 16, 2007, at Ring of Fire 28: Evolution against Andrea Miller and won the fight by unanimous decision.
On April 5th, 2013 Michelle became the new Invicta FC atomweight champion by defeating Jessica Penne via armbar in the 4th round of their championship fight.
And the rest as they say is history and now, history in the making.
Others would love to dance with her as well. She is absolutely fascinating. On February 8, 2017 at foxsports.com they gush, “Fresh off a win over Paige VanZant in December, Michelle Waterson has suddenly become one of the fastest rising stars in the women’s strawweight division and she was even attached to a rumored matchup with champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk just recently.
While that bout was never actually offered to either fighter, the fact that Waterson was even mentioned in title contention can only be a good thing as she looks to fast forward her career in 2017 with any number of potentially huge matchups on the horizon.”
Wait, another electronic heavyweight is walking over to flirt with Michelle. The global business news and information source forbes.com smiles, “It’s been a busy few months for Michelle Waterson, a 10-year veteran of the fight game whose career is really beginning to take off with the UFC.
After a 17-month injury-induced layoff, “The Karate Hottie” notched one of the biggest wins of her career over Paige VanZant at UFC on Fox 22 on December 17. Just one day prior to her main event showcase, a documentary chronicling Waterson’s career as an MMA fighter and a mother — aptly titled Fight Mom — was released to the public.”
It hasn’t always been easy. For super stars on the rise is it ever?
As reported at maxim.com, “When Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson raised her hands in victory on Saturday night after defeating Paige VanZant with a first round rear naked choke, it marked the end of a long personal journey for the 30-year-old strawweight. Saturday’s fight was Waterson’s first after a year and half marred by injury.
After opening up her UFC career with a submission win over Angela Magana, Waterson pulled out of UFC 194 in December with a knee injury. A couple months later, she broke her hand. Finally healthy, Waterson returned to the cage Saturday and any worries about ring rust were quickly dispelled.”
We agree. The rust is way gone. We are believers.
Let’s visit the village where Michelle was born.
Aurora Colorado is a Home Rule Municipality.
Municipal home rule originated in the United States during the Progressive Era of the early twentieth century. It enables voters to adopt a home rule charter that acts as the city’s basic governing document over local issues; however, state law continues to prevail over statewide concerns.
Aurora is one of the principal cities of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area (Metro Denver). The city’s population was 325,078 in the 2010 census, which made it the third most populous city in the state of Colorado and the 54th most populous city in the United States.
Aurora originated in the 1880s as the town of Fletcher, taking its name from Denver businessman Donald Fletcher who saw it as a real estate opportunity.
Today’s Aurora can be a fun and exciting place. At the city site auroragov.org they welcome, “Play ball. Hike a trail. Take a dip in a beautiful reservoir or hang out on the beach. Knock a ball out on a gorgeous green. See a play at an award-winning theatre. Learn something new. Ponder public art. Explore a museum. Shop Aurora. Eat a new type of cuisine at one of numerous ethnic and independently owned restaurants.
Aurora has plenty to keep you busy throughout the year, stimulating your mind, staying active and simply enjoying all that life has to offer.”
Wow. Visiting Aurora should be on most everyone’s bucket list.
Good idea.
At visitaurora they give us the official welcome. “Welcome to Aurora, Colorado, one of the most vibrant, exciting, energetic destinations in America. Spend a few hours here, and you’ll quickly appreciate that Aurora is flush with opportunity, experiences, and overall positive energy. We embrace the cultural diversity and heritage that have made our community so unique, and we want to welcome you to discover what makes Aurora, Colorado such an incredible place to work, play, and visit.”
No wonder Michelle is so attractive.
Family oriented too.
At uninterrupted.com they add, “Balancing life as a mother, a wife, and a professional MMA fighter competing in the UFC is no easy feat — but when you’re Michelle Waterson, you make it work.”
In watching Michelle’s matches she is calculating, loves to keep her opponents in the center of the cage so she can strike and to prevent herself from getting trapped against the wall, she floats like a buttery fly and stings with a punch.
Even her pre-match interviews, weigh in and camera posing are something to behold. She is super sexy, evenly tanned, stunningly beautiful and glows with a vibrant smile.
So if you bring someone to the Female MMA dance that you are kind of attracted to, we will forgive if you want to follow Michelle’s ascending career and dance with her instead.
It’s forgivable.
It’s even understandable. We have empathy.
We should know.
It happened to us too.
