To attain star status encompasses many things, including having your stars line up just right.
If we were to analyze the star trajectory of CrossFit super star Lauren Fisher, they must be in a perfect straight line with an arrow on the end headed towards the sun.
At an extremely young age, she has accomplished some amazing things. At just 22 years old, she has already:
- Played national level high school basketball,
- Become Best Female Lifter at the Junior National weightlifting championship in 2014,
- Qualified twice for the CrossFit Games.
She’s expressed that for a girl to be strong and athletic is beautiful.
We agree.
Would you like to meet her? To do so, let’s see what others across the CrossFit universe are saying about her.
At the site that worships beautiful female athletes, crossfitbabesmiami.com.au, they praise, “Lauren Fisher started her CrossFit journey at the ripe age of 14 years old. Now just 20, she is this year’s youngest female athlete competing in the CrossFit Games as an individual. Studying full time at University and training twice a day hasn’t been a problem for this determined and motivated inspiring young woman.”
Understandably, Lauren has a busy schedule.
Now the next endorsement is really special because, well, it emanates from a global giant who most of us would love to receive an endorsement from and all of the gold that goes with it.
On May 22, 2015 at nike.com they are very proud of Lauren. “At this time of year, most college students are busy studying for finals, hanging out with friends and looking forward to their long summer break. That’s all true for Lauren Fisher, though she has a few other things on her agenda as well.
This year, she will debut the new fall 2015 Nike MetCon training shoe in her own exclusive colorway – a shoe specifically tailored for high-intensity competitive training.
The 21-year-old athlete, known for her 250-pound clean-and-jerks and her signature loose ponytail, is training hard for the upcoming competition just as she finishes her semester at San Diego State University. As she prepares to go up against some of the strongest and most explosive athletes in the region, she maintains her process and the importance of life balance. Her formula is simple: stay dedicated and work a little harder than everyone else.”
Now that demonstrates the wonderful benefits of achieving star status.
Another global giant has news for you about Lauren. The world’s sports and entertainment leader espn.go.com highlights, “Fisher is the up-and-coming darling of CrossFit. She’s a 20-year-old powerhouse with a megawatt smile and strength that is not at all relative to her 5-foot-5, 135-pound frame. Last August, as the youngest competitor in the 2014 CrossFit Games in Carson, California, she finished ninth overall. She has 23,000 Twitter followers, another 13,000 on Facebook and, in addition to her more niche sponsors (Rogue Fitness, Progenex and PurePharma), she has a Nike shoe deal, which is indicative of her crossover appeal.”
As always, ESPN gives us more news and information until our sports plate is full. They share some of Lauren’s history with us.
“Through CrossFit, Fisher made an entrée into the world of Olympic weightlifting, and has represented Team USA at junior meets worldwide.
She began doing CrossFit when she was a 14-year-old high school freshman basketball player at St. Mary’s in Stockton, California, where her team won two state championships and a national title. As an 18-year-old senior, Fisher qualified for the CrossFit Northern California Regionals and finished 12th overall, a remarkable outcome for an athlete so young. She was inspired by the CrossFit community and the strength of its women, and decided to forgo basketball at San Diego State University, where she is currently a junior, to focus on her CrossFit.”
Very impressive. As of this July 2016 writing, is she really only 22 years old?
How in part has she jetted to stellar status?
It’s her work habits of course. The energetic site physiqueformuladiet.com speaks to that. “Lauren trains five days a week and two times per day. Her typical workout split is a heavy strength workout during the morning with her afternoon workout being more of conditioning session in the water or at the track. At 20 years old she was the youngest women ever to compete in the CrossFit Games and she even competed a year earlier with her team in the 2013 games. She also has participated in the American Open and Junior Pan Am Championships with Team USA.”
Where is the village that had an extremely important influence on young Lauren’s life?
She now lives in sun drenched and scenic San Diego.
Because we previously have often focused on the mesmerizing San Diego region, this time we’re going to go a little off of the beaten path.
Have you ever been to Manteca, California? It’s Lauren’s home town. Shall we briefly visit?
Manteca is a city in San Joaquin County, California. The city’s estimated 2013 population was 71,948.
It’s located in the Central Valley of California, 76 miles east of San Francisco. It was founded in 1861 by Joshua Cowell. Cowell claimed around 1,000 acres and built houses on what is now the corner of Main and Yosemite, where Bank of America now stands.
As you drive through town to get to Yosemite, there are some mouth-watering places to eat.
According to the welcoming city site visitmanteca.org Weber’s BBQ is one of them.
“A quality Soul-Food Restaurant” Specializing in BBQ, Southern and Cajun Cook’n, just like the kind Momma used to make! You will find ALL your favorites here…..Ribs, chicken, brisket, Southern fried catfish, and German Chocolate cake that is the FAV of everyone in town. They call them side dishes but the taste of these soul food items are standouts on their own…. black eyed peas, red beans & rice, fried okra, jambalaya, gumbo, candied yams and greens. More traditional home-made choices of potato salad, macaroni salad, corn on the cob, coleslaw, or macaroni & cheese will round out your plate. Locals love the homey family atmosphere and count on good food every time they dine. “Mrs. Weber is the best and their food is the bomb!”
Wow, why have a back yard BBQ when you can eat there.
In one of her online interviews Lauren mentioned how her mother was sensational at fixing Mexican food. On the day that mothers aren’t feeling up to cooking in Manteca, their city site has a suggestion.
Visit El Jardin Restaurant.
El Jardin is a Fine Mexican dining experience at it’s BEST. It might be the fresh Baja style food or even the friendly attentive staff that has locals voting El Jardin the BEST Mexican Restaurant in Manteca. With a full service bar and over 90 Tequilas no wonder the BEST Bartender in Manteca works here too. Famous for their sizzling fajitas in an iron skillet and a bean dip that is over the top, it is El Jardin’s nachos that hold the title BEST in Manteca. Banquet room available for business or team meetings. Family friendly, child and senior plates available. Reservations are suggested, or call ahead and make it TO GO back to your hotel. Located less than one mile from Bass Pro Shop.”
This is making this writer soooooooo hungry but for now let’s stay near Manteca and alter the subject.
So Lauren was raised near the majesty of Yosemite National Park.
For those of us who have visited Yosemite there is so much to say, only the global travel masters Lonely Planet just always says it so much better. “The jaw-dropping head-turner of America’s national parks, and a Unesco World Heritage site, Yosemite (yo-sem-it-ee) garners the devotion of all who enter. From the waterfall-striped granite walls buttressing emerald-green Yosemite Valley to the skyscraping giant sequoias catapulting into the air at Mariposa Grove, the place inspires a sense of awe and reverence – four million visitors wend their way to the country’s third-oldest national park annually. But lift your eyes above the crowds and you’ll feel your heart instantly moved by unrivalled splendors: the haughty profile of Half Dome, the hulking presence of El Capitan, the drenching mists of Yosemite Falls, the gemstone lakes of the high country’s subalpine wilderness and Hetch Hetchy’s pristine pathways.”
Manteca must have been a great place to grow up for Lauren, the girl with a fantastic present and an emerging future.
What does Lauren see for herself in the future?
At the informative site purepharma.com she smiles, “In 10 years, I hope to have won the CrossFit Games one or two times and gone to the Olympics on the USA Weightlifting team.”
Those are great goals and we’re very confident that they will be achieved. Why? Because as we previously said, when it comes to Lauren’s meteoric rise?
Her stars are perfectly upwardly aligned.
