July 18, 2024,
At times it is very elusive and when temporarily achieved, very fleeting.
Perhaps its longevity has a lot to do with the person involved.
For how long can you sustain peace of mind?
Sometimes we sense, in part due to their neurotic and fearful thinking, some individuals rarely achieve it.
We would like to see you achieve it more often and we think we have some ideas that will help. Let’s keep it simple and package it into three categories.
Good insurance plans and money in the bank tends to give us more peace of mind. Though it is hard to achieve perfection, if you have those categories well in hand, your peace of mind will tend to increase.
Time to analyze.
As the old expression goes, insurance is a terrible thing, until you need it.
Whether it is medical coverage, car and home insurance or other higher end products, you always feel more secure when you have adequate coverage. One catastrophe can completely change your life.
This seems to be self-explanatory, so let’s move on to the next category.
We all need money.
We’re told that money doesn’t buy happiness but can it buy more peace of mind?
Time to pause. What is peace of mind exactly?
Peace of mind refers to a deliberate state of psychological or spiritual calm despite the potential presence of stressors.
Being “at peace” is considered by many to be healthy (homeostasis) and the opposite of being stressed or anxious, and is considered to be a state where our mind performs at an optimal level, regardless of outcomes.
We’ve found that to be true.
Peace of mind is thus generally associated with bliss, happiness and contentment.
Peace of mind, serenity, and calmness are descriptions of a disposition free from the effects of stress. In some cultures, inner peace is considered a state of consciousness that may be cultivated by various forms of training, such as breathing exercises, prayer, meditation, tai chi or yoga, for example. Many spiritual practices refer to this peace as an experience of knowing oneself.
Good to know.
Time to trek over to the book store.
Calmly.
Peace Is a Practice: An Invitation to Breathe Deep and Find a New Rhythm for Life Hardcover – February 15, 2022
By Morgan Harper Nichols (Author)
“When you breathe in all the grace available to you and release everything that is outside of your control, you’ll discover peace that surpasses your circumstances. All it takes is practice.
If you feel overwhelmed with anxiety about the future, you’re far from alone. For many of us, when we’re not worrying about what is to come, we find ourselves wrestling with things from the past. Where does that leave us today?
Morgan Harper Nichols has learned the answer to this question. She has examined stories from her own life and the lives of people around the world and noticed a common thread: we all long for peace. We’re all seeking light and life.
But these things don’t happen passively.
Peace Is a Practice invites you to become an active peacemaker in your own life, starting right where you are, and in some of the most unexpected places. As these words and images inspire you to take daily steps toward peace, you’ll uncover the key to:
- Embracing the beauty of the present
- Letting go of regret of the past and fear of the future
- Developing a path toward meaning and authenticity
- Approaching life’s challenges with faith and a calm confidence
- Feeling peace even in the midst of uncertainty or difficult times
In every moment, there is something as deep and boundless as a winding river waiting to be found–a true peace that flows, beckoning you to rest and be still.”
We can certainly understand that. Great advice.
So, with money, while you don’t need to be rich, from our view, you absolutely do not want to be living from paycheck to paycheck.
Make sure you have a savings for a rainy day.
How much should you have? Well, that amount varies depending upon who you speak to.
The informative team at ally.com educate, “Rule of thumb? Aim to have three to six months’ worth of expenses set aside. To figure out how much you should have saved for emergencies, simply multiply the amount of money you spend each month on expenses by either three or six months to get your target goal amount.”
Seems sound.
One more trip to the book store.
