March 26, 2021,
You want to do it. A lot. As much as your love interest and partner will let you get away with it.
But should you? Even if they do. Should you agree?
Selfish behavior. That is how some would describe it. Relationships can be complicated. Or, is it that we make relationships more complicated than they need to be.
Kate sure did.
When we first saw the title, Kate Can’t Swim, we sensed this could be a good Indie.
It was. It is. In fact, it is a great Indie.
First off, we loved the look of the lead actress Celeste Arias.
Celeste is an actress best known for her roles in The Post (2017) and The Big Sick (2017).
She is completely gorgeous in an intellectual girl next door sort of way. It is fitting that she plays a writer in this film because she sure looks like one. Or a journalist.
Here Kate has a boyfriend who is financially stable and knowingly has a Brooklyn Tigress by the tail in pretty babe Kate.
He’s overly friendly and sweet to her and lets her get away with just about anything.
The lovemaking is good and he goes along with her cat and mouse games to spice up their life.
Even when they have an important common appointment together, he allows her to blow it off so she can go get drunk with her best gal pal from college who just blew into town with a handsome Australian boyfriend in her tug boat.
Time for the two couples to get together at her girlfriend’s boyfriend’s weekend retreat.
Hmm, we smell trouble coming with that one. Especially with the sexy strong girl who can push her boyfriend around or else.
Or so she thinks.
The couples get together.
As usual in these settings, things are going shallow well. Lots of witty jokes, good food, wine and fun activities.
Something is simmering beneath the surface.
Isn’t there always?
The Aussie is physically, mentally and emotionally stronger than Kate’s boyfriend and he certainly won’t let Kate push him around. He seems to read her like a book. A feminine one that he has read and memorized.
The heroine doesn’t get her way there.
A manly man who has been around the block and kicked a few bloke’s butts in.
Emotionally speaking, a few birds too.
He’s not afraid of a bar fight. Nor a Feminist Nazi verbal knife fight. Kate’s boyfriend wouldn’t be caught dead anywhere near either one of those.
Do we smell an affair coming?
Yes, but not quite in the way you probably think. We’ll get there soon enough.
Soon they are all hanging around by the lake, Kate relaxing in her booty shorts and makes it clear to her loving and obedient boyfriend that she doesn’t want to get in the water. Okay fine. He swims with Kate’s friend and her outdoorsman beau.
What a nice guy.
Here boy. Come get your vegan treat.
Enough of this. The burly Aussie gets up on the plank, lifts Kate up, almost cuckold style and is going to throw her in the water. Kate adamantly protests.
Extremely erotic. Feminist booty shorts and all at the mercy of a manly man.
What is her boyfriend going to do you ask?
You already know.
Nothing.
Fortunately the Aussie is not going to kick Gold Coast sand in his face.
Splash!
Kate’s curvy booty hits the water.
She is vehemently upset. She gets out of the water and basically tells strong boy that he is an A-hole. Her civilized cuckold tries to calm her but she’s having none of it.
So, is she going to end up in bed with the Aussie?
We think so. It’s up to him. He can have her anytime that he wants to.
He’s an artist. He takes pictures. Of what you ask? Women of course.
With no clothes on.
Later he is working alone in his studio and Kate gently saunters in. To scold him you ask? Can this female activist reform him?
No, of course not.
She came in to apologize for her behavior. Trying to zap him through the feminine back door. A clever one she is.
Then what does she ask? For him to take pictures of her. She always wanted to be a model, tee, he, ha, ha.
He agrees but he needs to interview her first. These two trying to get into a mutual conversation is like watching a dog and a cat agree upon what boxing gloves to wear.
Along the way, as he challenges Kate’s thoughts and notions, she increasingly becomes upset and outraged.
So what.
Calmly, he’s not going to roll over for her.
Kate storms out.
And you know what?
After all of this, we like Kate. We’ve known scores of California and Oregon women like her.
We really do. She’s not a bad person.
She just a pain in the male butt.
Just like so many beautiful women over the years who don’t have a clue as to what they want, are attracted to the civilized good boy male and solid financial provider to worship her and let her get her way so she can push him around and later cheat on him and get pounded into submission by a more virile, artistic male who could care less about her.
We can feel Kate’s orgasm coming around the bend.
We’ve seen this play out so many times over the years.
Kate’s boyfriend wants to marry her.
Of course.
She cries tears of joy and accepts his proposal.
Why aren’t you smiling?
Because you know pretty little Kate can’t swim in so many ways.
She can cheat though. Who with? Other people that are in the film, but we won’t say who. You should watch this one.
We can look into Kate’s future.
Years later, one day she will be sitting down in a New York restaurant with a different gal pal and lamenting about the shortage of available men that she can fall in love with and across the way she will see someone who looks a lot like her old boyfriend who once proposed to her.
A nice guy type who makes a good living with a beautiful younger woman who desired security and their two children and is very happy and content.
How do you think Kate will feel?
In our circle we knew of a gorgeous 40 something lady who was having troubles in her marriage. What kind of troubles, we were not sure. At any rate, her husband eventually gave her permission to have sex with other men.
Would you as a marriage mate take him up on that offer or is that still adultery?
Our friend took him up on that offer and began to secretly have sex with young strong athletic males in their early twenties until her marriage eventually crumbled. As usual, her lovers were never going to marry her or even be her boyfriend. They just wanted to sexually dominate her as long as she would allow them to and then move on.
In a private discussions with friends, they sided with her husband and chided her that even if he does give you permission to behave badly, you shouldn’t do it. That doesn’t absolve you from guilt.
Or adultery.
They lost respect for her.
We saw this play out as well in an intriguing film titled, Killing Me Softly, with one of our most favorite blondes in Heather Graham.
So, male or female, do you think you have your significant other on a string and you can play them like a yo-yo?
Should you do it even if they allow you to?
Be careful.
Sometimes you don’t appreciate the wonders of what you once had, until it is long gone.
Until you see it sitting across from you with a runny nose and doe eyes in a New York restaurant.
