July 20, 2022,
If you are the child of a globally famous rock musician and actor, who married America’s sweetheart (Cosby show’s cute teenage daughter) and heart throb, creating your own legacy begins when your own work is so substantial and magnificent that people stop referring to you as the A-List actor and actresses daughter.
They just call you Zoe. Nice name. Intelligent. Sweet. Simple.
Zoe starred in this.
Zoe was incredible in that.
Zoe looks spectacular in those.
Young Zoe Kravitz has made her mark and now is creating an iconic legacy in her early thirties.
Look out world.
Zoë is an American actress, singer, and model.
The great trifecta.
The daughter of popular actor and musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, she made her acting debut in the romantic comedy film No Reservations (2007).
Her breakthrough came with portraying Angel Salvadore in the superhero film X-Men: First Class (2011), which earned her nominations for a Teen Choice Award and a Scream Award. She rose to prominence playing Christina in The Divergent Series (2014–2016) and Leta Lestrange in the Fantastic Beasts film series (2016–2022).
Welcome to the world of the blockbusters.
Zoe earned praise for her lead roles in the HBO drama series Big Little Lies (2017–2019), which earned her a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.
HBO explains, “Based on Liane Moriarty’s bestselling book, this subversive, darkly comedic drama series tells the tale of three mothers of first-graders whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to the point of murder. The stellar cast includes Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Alexander Skarsgard, Laura Dern, Adam Scott, Zoe Kravitz, James Tupper and Jeffrey Nordling.”
We loved the series and watched it twice. It was intriguing and educational regarding the Monterey lifestyle.
She hit the mark in the Hulu romantic comedy series High Fidelity (2020), for which she won a Black Reel Award and received a nomination for a Satellite Award.
Is there more?
We’re just getting warmed up. This young luminary has an incredible resume.
Time magazine named Ms. Kravitz one of the 100 Most Influential People in 2022.
In addition to acting, Zoe works as a fashion model and musician.
The music industry giant billboard.com announced, “Zoe Kravitz has entered a new era of self-confidence, one that will see her releasing her first solo album produced by Jack Antonoff.”
She expressed that music makes her happy. No doubt her famous father too.
As of 2017, she is the face of YSL Beauté. Sounds wonderful.
The fashion industry elite at us.fashionnetwork.com inform, “Zoë Kravitz is set to take the beauty world by storm, following the news that she has been snapped up as a global makeup ambassador for YSL Beauté. The star will appear in her first campaign for the brand later this summer. It will be titled ‘Tatouage Couture’.”
Very inspiring.
The young dynamic actress has also starred in campaigns for Tiffany & Co., Vera Wang, Balenciaga, Alexander Wang, Coach New York, Tumi, and Calvin Klein.
Recently she starred in another blockbuster, The Batman.
The Batman is a 2022 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Batman.
Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Films, 6th & Idaho, and Dylan Clark Productions, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is a reboot of the Batman film franchise.
In our opinion, a stellar reboot.
A slow burn, moody, think piece.
Perfect for Zoe.
Along with Zoe, it stars Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell.
The film sees Batman, who has been fighting crime in Gotham City for two years, uncover corruption while pursuing the Riddler (Dano), a serial killer who targets Gotham’s elite.
Zoe’s role was quietly persistent and pervasive. So often, all eyes were upon her.
This is a film you watch in the dark, no distractions.
The film grossed over $770 million against a $185–200 million budget, making it the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2022.
We look forward to the next one.
We currently want to know more about Zoe.
According to the informative Hollywood inside source collider.com, “Things are officially underway for Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut, Pussy Island. The MGM-backed feature will be a dark telling of the horrors lurking behind the life of the elite as a cocktail waitress named Frida (Ackie) shoots her shot with a wealthy titan of the tech industry (Tatum).”
Sounds enticing.
The storyline goes, Frida’s is invited to the mysterious rich man’s island, complete with an excursion on a private jet.
Party, party, party.
At first, Frida thinks that she’s made it into the elite life as she easily slips into the world of the rich and famous, but as the evening wears on, Frida begins to realize that something much more sinister is at play.
We absolutely look forward to this one.
One of Zoe’s films that is a little off the radar but has a captivating storyline is simply titled Gemini.
Gemini is a 2017 American mystery thriller film written, directed and edited by Aaron Katz.
Along with Zoe, it stars Lola Kirke, Greta Lee, Nelson Franklin, Reeve Carney, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Ricki Lake, and John Cho. The plot follows the assistant of a Hollywood actress who must clear her name after her starlet boss is found murdered in her home.
Ouch.
A little taste of a review by the experts at rogerebert.com surmises, “Gemini has a breezy lethargy and the characters always look on the brink of sleep. With a cobalt and ultraviolet color scheme and a jazzy score, the movie seems to be cast in the dreariness of Hollywood dreams.”
Sounds like another film you watch in the dark, with no distractions and some delicious take out.
We did watch it.
In the dark.
Zoe’s career is fascinating to watch, with no distractions. We’re taking it all in.
Her already extensive film list is surging. Like a super heroine.
Think about that for a second.
As she gains more experience behind the camera, we feel the best is yet to come.
Back in the day, when we used to watch her mother on the Cosby Show and listen to her father belt out hits like American Woman, who would have thought, without seeing, a new star would be born.
Shining bright, with no limits in sight.
