July 6, 2024,
Hopefully it is just your imagination.
Exaggerating how bad things are and how worse they are going to be.
Who could blame you?
To say we live in a dystopian world is an understatement.
Just look at the headlines.
As reported by the UN Refugee Agency unhcr.org, “117.3 million forcibly displaced people worldwide at the end of 2023 as a result of persecution, conflict, violence, human rights violations or events seriously disturbing public order.”
That is truly distressing to hear.
This, is in part, why immigration has become a hot button ugly issue with many countries, pushing them to far right extremism.
The UNHCR sadly adds, “At the end of 2023, of the 117.3 million forcibly displaced people, an estimated 47 million (40 per cent) are children below 18 years of age.”
Yet, we can’t give up.
There are incredible organizations like the Red Cross that never give up in helping those in need.
When it comes to the news, from the loss of basic rights to the corruption seen in governments and courts, which once prided themselves in being objective, it might be easy to give up on the future.
Any yet we can’t.
Sometimes life will surprise those who do not give up.
Let’s walk over to the bookstore.
Don’t Give Up! You Are Stronger Than You Think Paperback – October 21, 2015
By Canaan Mash (Author)
“It’s not always going to be easy to reach our dreams in life. The loftier the dream the more challenging the path. Often times it seems impossible. The road to long-term success is seldom a straight line. It’s not where you start in life, it’s where you end up that counts.
Many times we have all felt like quitting, giving up, throwing in the towel. Failure isn’t something many of us can handle gracefully. It’s a common human condition but we’re somehow always surprised when it happens to us. Believe In Your Dream! Don’t sell yourself short. You are stronger than you think. You are made of sterner stuff. One little setback is not enough to stop you.
This book challenges readers to realise that every insult, every disappointment, every pain and every hurt that breaks your heart – is fuel for your inner fire! Medals are given to overcomers. Honours are bestowed on champions. Readers will find crucial strategies on dealing with and overcoming the inevitable setbacks of life!”
Very encouraging.
Have you ever found yourself in a situation that seemed unsolvable at worst, daunting at best? You do research, you brainstorm with others and turn over every rock to solve the problem.
Then guess what?
The problem gets solved, all by itself.
There is always the option that you take steps to solve the problem yourself. There are proven methodologies.
Problem solving is the process of achieving a goal by overcoming obstacles, a frequent part of most activities. Solutions require sufficient resources and knowledge to attain the goal. The mental techniques to identify, analyze, and solve problems are studied in psychology and cognitive sciences.
There are two different types of problems: ill-defined and well-defined; different approaches are used for each. Well-defined problems have specific end goals and clearly expected solutions, while ill-defined problems do not. Well-defined problems allow for more initial planning than ill-defined problems.
Once we reach a solution, it can change our lives and the lives of others.
Another reason why we should not give up.
Ready for a movie?
Cast Away is a 2000 American survival drama film directed and produced by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, Helen Hunt, and Nick Searcy.
Tom Hanks plays a FedEx troubleshooter who is stranded on an uninhabited island after his plane crashes in the South Pacific, and the plot focuses on his desperate attempts to survive and return home.
In watching the film, we lived and died by the character’s refusal to give up on a situation that many probably would.
Like taking care of your health before a crisis comes.
There is a fitness group called Orangetheory who is partnering with Danae Mercer. Any help we can get would be delightful.
We want to get a read on Danae. She is fairly unorthodox, in a great way, with a wonderful sense of humor. We are going to check out some of her videos and her partnership with Orangetheory.
First, let’s do a meet and great bio.
At her wonderful home, danaemercer.com, she explains that she is a health and travel journalist, content creator, public speaker and self-love activist. On the journalism side, she has been in the media for over 10 years and her articles have appeared on numerous major magazines and global media outlets.
Wow, that’s a lot.
In terms of what she can do for you Fem Competitors, let’s visit her YouTube channel and check out some of her subject matter. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZ4LdmceXmLTiHjpgtwJlYw
