Much to do about something is the anthem of sports marketing at the highest level.
The something involved is about defining what your priorities are and your focus.
So when the super sexy MMA Fighter Felice Nicole Herring lists Anna Kournikova as one of the athletes to use as an example of what at least one of your priorities should be, that’s very telling.
We empathize and completely understand.
We can never forget Anna.
At imdb.com they remember her with a point being made. “Anna Kournikova was born on 7 June 1981 in Moscow, Russia. At the age of 7, her father began teaching her how to play tennis.
For her looks, Anna became known as the “Britney Spears of Tennis”.

Anna’s talent for playing tennis got her noticed not just for tennis competitions, but for TV as well.
As of March 2004, Anna retired from professional tennis due to chronic lower back trouble.”
And now for the point.
“She has never won a WTA singles title.”
Felice draws a lot of attention not just for her fighting but perhaps more so for her sex appeal.
Which appeals to her.
A lot.
In an online interview she makes a point that Anna made far more money from endorsements than prize money from her tennis matches.
Making a lot of money from your sponsors is a great thing.
Makes perfect sense.
That is why in part Felice loves to promote her sex appeal.
She truly is a great Fem Competitor. Time for a closer look. Please keep your gaze at eye level. Please.
As far as the basics, Felice is an American kickboxer, Muay Thai fighter, and mixed martial artist.
Born in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, she began her career practicing kickboxing and Muay Thai before transitioning to MMA in 2009. In September 2011, she signed a multi-fight deal with XFC in Florida.
As of this May 2017 writing, she fights in the UFC straw weight division, where she is currently the #9-ranked female straw weight fighter in the world according to the Unified Women’s MMA Rankings.
Prior to Felice “Lil’ Bulldog” Herrig’s move to mixed martial arts, Herrig held a professional kickboxing record of 23-5.
As a pro kickboxer, Herrig won the International Kickboxing Federation Pro Muay Thai United States Bantamweight Title. She won the title on November 15, 2008 in Chicago, Illinois, USA, when she defeated Katie Meehan by unanimous decision, 49-46, 48-47 and 49-46.
As an amateur, she was a two time International Kickboxing Federation Open Tournament Champion.
On August 21, 2005, in Orlando, Florida, Felice became the 2005 IKF North American Classic Amateur Full Contact Rules Bantamweight Tournament Champion when she defeated Terri French of Little Rock, Arkansas.
She has also competed in the World Combat League with the St. Louis Enforcers.
Our beauty appeared on Fight Girls in 2007 on the Oxygen and won her fight in Thailand against a champion Thai fighter.
She was later scheduled to appear on another reality show about women’s MMA called the Ultimate Women Challenge.
Her sports marketing affiliation is with Sucker Punch Entertainment.
They love to promote. At suckerpunchent.com they smile, “SuckerPunch Entertainment is the premier sports management and marketing company in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). Our roster boasts some of the best male and female athletes in the sport.
Through our athletes and expansive network, we can instantly embed your brand into the fabric of the fastest growing sport in the country. We can deliver millions of impressions for your brand both nationally and internationally.”
After she graduated from high school she attended beauty school and became an Esthetician.
As she matured she became an assertive Facebook and MySpace user, accumulating thousands of followers, a real accomplishment for a young fighter in the early days of social media.
In order to ascend in her sport, the honing of a social media personality becomes as much a part of the job as strength and conditioning training.
For a gorgeous female fighter, the challenge is even greater.
Who can blame Felice for concentrating on her sponsors since they pay most of her bills?
She makes that very clear along with feeling comfortable acting feminine and putting on pretty dresses.
Having said that, she still puts everything into her fighting. She works hard at the gym with 2-3 training sessions a day for at least 6 times a week.
At ufc.com she emphasizes, “My coaches set me up with a pretty regimented schedule each week so one day might be no gi, pads and strength and conditioning. Another day might be wrestling, live MMA drills with pad work. Another might be gi, S&C and sparring. I’m usually in the gym 2 to 3 times a day with one day off a week.”
She’s beautiful.
She’s popular.
She’s charismatic.
Understandably many want an even closer look at her as a person. At espn.com they insightfully share, “As a child growing up in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, Felice Herrig collected things. For a while, it was smiley faces, then business cards, then bouncy balls. When it came time for summer camp, Herrig’s family couldn’t afford to send her, so she went door-to-door fundraising. Perhaps part of it was fueled by want; in some ways, her family fell apart after the death of her youngest brother, and money was hard to come by. But there was always an obsessive quality to her.”
Her obsessive qualities are part of what fueled her.
We would love to visit her hometown to explore what else contributed to this marketing prize.
It’s all about the community.
Buffalo Grove is a village in Cook and Lake counties in the U.S. state of Illinois, within the northern suburbs of Chicago.
As of the 2010 census, the village population was 41,496.

Ranked by Money Magazine as top 50 towns to live in 2013, Buffalo Grove IL has proven to be a great place to live. Buffalo Grove is located within the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, a region that also includes towns such as Long Grove, Lake Zurich, Barrington and Arlington Heights. The town lines of Buffalo Grove fall in both Lake and Cook County. Since its incorporation in 1958, Buffalo Grove has been one of the fasted growing communities in the Northwest suburbs. Unlike so many other communities, Buffalo Grove has been able to retain the characteristics which attracted its earliest residents as it remains to be a community of tree-lined streets and well-maintained homes and neighborhoods.
Buffalo Grove gives its residents best of both worlds.
While residents can enjoy the amenities of a country environment, they can also easily access the culture and entertainment of Chicago. Buffalo Grove was included as one of “Fifty Fabulous Places to Raise Your Family.”
That is very impressive.
The community helped shape Felice so she is a great example of Buffalo Grove pride.
In the female grappling game, Felice Herring is a breath of fresh air.
She knows what she wants and how to get it and following the example of the tennis beauty Anna Kournikova in terms of marketing?
Beauty and aggression is a good thing.
That’s brilliant too.
