November 20, 2021,
Creation, the world over, can’t seem to get enough of the inside scoop on Hollywood stars.
The film industry is hotter than ever especially since streaming is expanding in leaps and bounds.
We know and love many of the major players like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Acorn TV, Sling and more. It’s how we do our homework.
What a fun job. Given the many other traditional offerings like HBO, now HBO MAX, Showtime, Cinemax, AMC, Starz and more, it is so hard to keep up.
Sometimes we just latch onto a beautiful actress after she impresses us in a movie, look up her online profile and then watch more of her work. Popcorn optional.
Emilia Clarke is an English actress who has us speaking not only in accents but tongues as well.
She began by studying at the Drama Centre London, appearing in a number of stage productions.
Our Hollywood dream girl had her breakthrough role as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO epic fantasy television series Game of Thrones (2011–2019). The role garnered her international recognition and several accolades, including four Emmy Award nominations.
We are not alone in being enamored by her talent, beauty and star power.
In 2015, luxury goods company Dior signed Ms. Clarke to be the face of the Rose des Vents jewelry collection.
In 2018, Dolce & Gabbana announced she would be the brand ambassador for the fragrance “The Only One”. She starred in an advertisement, which was directed by Matteo Garrone for the perfume. Cosmetics company Clinique announced Clarke as their first global ambassador in early 2020.
When Emilia speaks, we listen. When she acts, we watch.
Just like we do Ana de Armas.
Ana is an actress who began her career in her home country of Cuba and had a leading role in the romantic drama Una rosa de Francia (2006). At age 18, she moved to Madrid, Spain and starred in the popular teen drama El Internado for six seasons from 2007 to 2010.
This gorgeous starlit has staying power.
After moving to Los Angeles, Ana had English-speaking roles in the erotic thriller Knock Knock (2015) and the comedy-crime film War Dogs (2016), and had a supporting role in the sports biopic Hands of Stone (2016).
She rose to prominence with her role as a holographic AI projection in the science fiction film Blade Runner 2049 (2017). For her performance as nurse Marta Cabrera in the mystery film Knives Out (2019), de Armas was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical and won the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In 2021, Ana reunited with her Knives Out co-star Daniel Craig to play a Bond girl in Cary Joji Fukunaga‘s No Time to Die. Cary Fukunaga wrote the character of a Cuban CIA agent with de Armas in mind. She described the character as bubbly and “very irresponsible”.
In her short appearance in No Time to Die, her character, Paloma, claimed to have little training but proved to be highly skilled.
We are trying to find her in every streaming service possible.
There is good news. All of us can stream more.
On November 9, 2021, as reported by reuters.com, “Struum brings the “ClassPass” model, which allows members to sample a variety of different gyms for a fixed monthly fee, to entertainment. Subscribers pay $4.99 a month to sample thousands of movies and television shows across more than 40 niche services.”
Wonderful. We can see more of Amilia and Ana virtually anytime we want.
Can we have more streaming? Please don’t make us beg.
Listen up. More streaming news.
As posted at cnet.com, “Disney Plus is a phenomenon and Netflix’s closest competitor for good reason. The streaming platform launched less than two years ago and has already amassed more than 116 million subscribers. It’s the only place where you can stream the vast majority of the Disney and Pixar libraries, along with every Star Wars movie, Marvel films and new original TV shows, National Geographic content and 31 seasons of The Simpsons.”
Netflix is still mighty business.
They add that 70 new original movies will arrive on the Netflix platform this year alone.
So, with new streaming players being downloaded all of the time, who is Struum.
They educate, “Struum is a groundbreaking platform that lets viewers access 1000s of shows and movies from over 50+ services with 1 monthly subscription. Struum simplifies streaming by providing viewers access to many of their favorite brands where they can search, seamlessly discover and redeem new content across services using credits. Struum offers a wide variety of programming including renowned documentaries, indie films, lifestyle series, classic films, true crime, LGBTQ+ and multicultural programming, as well as other beloved TV shows and movies.”
Sounds enticing. What a bargain for the price.
A group of former Disney and Discovery Communications executives brought Struum to life.
Many of the streaming services offer free trial periods.
If you go that pathway, be sure to cancel before the trial period ends.
Now if you don’t want to sign up for a new monthly service, even on a trial basis, you can rent or buy one movie at a time through a pay-per-view service such as Amazon Video, Redbox, Vudu or FandangoNow.
What we are finding out, is due to the massive change and growth of the streaming industry, when we see an actress we love in one film, we can now place her name in a cable search, view which streaming service those films are on and often for as little as $5 more on our cable bill, virtually download all of her films.
Can streaming get even larger?
Absolutely. The demand for new programming, especially from book authors is soaring.
Actors and actresses have never been busier.
Remember the days when our only choices were ABC, CBS and NBC?
Stream that from your thoughts. We have.
With billions of people on the planet, a new and fascinating story is being born every day with a stunning actress ready to play the title role while we swoon.
Soon, it will be streaming as well and if you are like us, we will be ready, popcorn in hand, to watch all of them.
