Publicly stated in good company or privately thought alone, sometimes in life when we witness a future star in the embryo stages, we have a strong sense when someone has the potential to be very special.
Watching the 2003 culturally incisive masterpiece film entitled Thirteen, it led me to believe that this beautiful bopper, Evan Rachel Wood, whoever she is, will be a Blockbuster Mega Star.
Evan Rachel Wood was born in 1987 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Thirteen earned her a Golden Globe nomination.
After working on a numerous independent films, most distinguishably Running With Scissors (2006) and Across the Universe (2007), Evan took to more mainstream fare with films like The Wrestler (2008) and cable dramas like True Blood and Mildred Pierce. Her most recent projects include performing with her electro-pop band Rebel and a Basketcase, as well as starring in HBO’s Westworld.
She’s fresh faced, believable, passionate and, young though she may be, absolutely chick gorgeous.
No matter the decade.
Beautiful girls like her are timeless.
‘Fashion is mysterious, as a rule. Why are blue jeans a classic? You just hit on something that happens to be timeless and right.”… Diane von Furstenberg
In the 1950’s you’d take her to the ice cream parlor. She looks fantastic in a ponytail. Wave the second hand weed smoke away from her face at Woodstock in the 1960s. Prance and dance in tight bell bottom pants in the 1970s. Wow how she looks foxy with those panty lines in light blue pants. Take her hand and hand to the Pop clubs of the 1980s and most important, no matter the decade, you could take her home to meet mommy.
Thirteen is an American semi-autobiographical drama film, released to cinemas in the USA on 20 August 2003 directed by Catherine Hardwicke, and written by Hardwicke and Nikki Reed, based on events from Ms. Reed’s life at age 12 and 13.
It stars Rachel as Wood’s character “Tracy” being loosely based upon Reed. Nikki Reed herself co-stars in the role of Evie Zamora.
The script was written in six days.
Very impressive.
The film caused controversy upon its release, because it dealt with topics like drugs such as inhalants, marijuana, and alcohol, underage sexual behavior and self-harm. The film earned Holly Hunter an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and Golden Globe nominations for Hunter and Evan Rachel Wood for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress in a Drama, respectively.
Evan’s career then began to soar.
At the age of five, Evan screen-tested against Kirsten Dunst for the lead role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) after a long auditioning process.
She moved to Los Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in 1996 and has had success ever since, appearing in a TV series, TV movies and feature films.
At the time of this SAG nomination, she was the youngest actress to be nominated in the Leading Role category.
What this writer felt at the time was much to do about Evan but also reflective of a very transitional time in my life where I had to come to terms with my teenage years and the girls that I knew.
I’ve gone to all of my high school reunions and Evan reminds me spot-on of a beautiful, shapely blonde girl that I went to high school with who was absolutely brilliant as she was sensuous.
She was the good girl who liked the bad boys and trust me, had a BFF who reminded me of Evan’s BFF in the teen drama.
She had a nice big shapely behind when big booties were not in style. Who cares? Beauty is timeless.
Loved the panty lines especially when she wore light colored pants.
As a weak, pathetic high school male, we were friends, even flirted a little but I was quietly terrified of her. She would graduate from high school early and when I later got my sports car, guts and girls friends, it was too late.
But I never forgot her. Almost still think about who she was every….single….day.
Would I ever tell her about the Evan comparison at a high school reunion? If you think yes…..
You must be crazeeeee! I would never tell her that.
But Evan in Thirteen, I knew she had the potential to be super great from the moment I saw her and watched that film with an array of rollercoaster emotions, over and over.
People all over the globe are falling in love with Evan.
Listen to this news.
At glamour.com they share, “Valentine’s Day has come early, friends. Only unlike the couple who will inevitably begin macking in front of you in the drugstore line, you won’t want to force your eyes away from this PDA: Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans‘ sultry ad for Gucci’s new Gucci Guilty Eau fragrances.”
Evan is fantastic at selling us on the character she portrays on film and that translates well in the brand ambassador world as well.
As reported at zimbio.com, “Actress Evan Rachel Wood has been an unofficial brand ambassador for Gucci for over a year now, having chosen to wear the luxe brand to nearly every red carpet event.
Apparently the love is mutual, as creative director Frida Giannini has just announced that Wood, 22, will be the face of Gucci’s new women’s fragrance.”
And what a fragrance.
“There will always be a desire for something new, fresh and innovative, as well as a yearning and respect for timeless elegance and beauty.”… Helena Christensen
The wonderful beauty site nstperfume.com agrees. “Gucci Guilty Eau ~ “A smooth and light interpretation of the classic Guilty women’s fragrances, Gucci Guilty EAU breaks with the tradition of sparkling, cool eau de toilettes, conveying a more delicate, romantic attitude. Subtly opens with a warm aquatic accord and sweet lychee. There is a milky and delicate heart of lilac, the floral signature of the original, now tinged with wild strawberry, while the musk base emulates the sultriness of bare skin.”
So sexy and so fun like Evan.
Please purchase, enjoy and experience the magic.
It’s timeless.
