Her current movies are a far cry from American Pie and American Beauty, but that is to be expected, since at this current writing, Mena Suvari is 44 years old.
Still incredibly beautiful, we might add.
Many of us still fantasize about her.
Precious is the film where you not only fantasize about the actress involved and learn an important life lesson from the story but her beauty also transports you to a life that you wished you could have lived as opposed to the one that you are confined in.
An intensely beautiful actress laced with innocence like Mena Suvari can do that for you as she did for many when she starred in American Beauty.
American Beauty is a 1999 American drama film directed by Sam Mendes and written by Alan Ball. Kevin Spacey stars as Lester Burnham, a 42-year-old advertising executive who has a midlife crisis when he becomes infatuated with his teenage daughter’s best friend, Angela (Mena Suvari).
Now for the learning part.
The film is described by academics as a satire of American middle-class notions of beauty and personal satisfaction; analysis has focused on the film’s explorations of romantic and paternal love, sexuality, beauty, materialism, self-liberation, and redemption.
That’s a lot.
We thought so too. Well, maybe not quite as eloquently.
One of her most recent films is a little easier to describe.
Hunt Club is a 2023 American action thriller film written by David Lipper and John F. Saunders, directed by Elizabeth Blake-Thomas and starring Mena Suvari, Mickey Rourke and Casper Van Dien.
Here is the storyline. It ain’t deep.
A group of male hunters lure women to their island with the chance to win one hundred thousand dollars in a hunt, only to discover that they are the hunted, but this time they mess with the wrong girls and must deal with the consequences.
We will try and contain our sarcasm. First of all, when the women take a look at these guys, where in the world are they going to get $100,000?
To just give away?
These guys?
Okay, it was a B movie at best but Mena really did make the move watchable. Her conversations with the twenty something son of a complete lunatic, were touching.
Especially since he really wanted to touch her. In today’s world, a 20 something strong young male and a beautiful 44 year old woman, some would say is the perfect, temporary, romantic match.
Mena picked a better movie here, which kept us on the edge of our seats.
What Lies Below is a 2020 American horror film written and directed by Braden R. Duemmler and starring Ema Horvath, Mena Suvari, and Trey Tucker.
Here is the storyline.
A 16 year-old high school girl, Liberty Wells, who goes by Libby, returns to her family lake house after summer camp.
Her mother, Michelle Wells, is a romance novelist.
Libby meets her mother’s new boyfriend, John, an aquatic geneticist, who gives her a bracelet with symbols for the goddess of fertility. John explains that his work involves trying to help creatures adapt to changing environments. Later that night, Libby goes to the kitchen and she hears loud sexual moaning, and runs back to her bed. It gets scary.
John stands in her doorway while Libby pretends to be asleep.
It gets a lot creepier after this and what we liked about the film was that it took us in a very different direction than what the foundation actions typically would.
Being molested by John is the least of her worries.
This was very entertaining.
Reading about Mena’s life is just as entertaining as well.
It is understandable that the world is fascinated with her. Continually.
She was named #69 on the Maxim magazine “Hot 100 of 2005” list, #73 in 2007 and number 52 in 2008.
High praise indeed and when praise of that stature roles in, inevitably you become a brand ambassador and role model.
She was once quoted as expressing, “One of the things you learn being in the public eye is that you have the ability to raise awareness about serious issues, and, in the process, really help people.”
Mena is a model for Lancôme cosmetics and print ads for Lancôme Paris Adaptîve and has been featured in several fashion blogs and magazines such as Vogue. Our blonde beauty also plays on the World Poker Tour in the Hollywood Home games for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
She is also active in female empowerment issues.
Mena is involved with several charities whose cause is breast cancer, the “End Violence Against Women” campaign, and tours high schools as a “Circle Of Friends” spokesperson, encouraging teenagers to quit smoking.
Her last name, “Suvari”, is Estonian.
It’s often been reported that approximately fifty percent of the women there are blonde.

When you approach a massive project like researching Mena’s life, there are so many angles you can go from, so many directions you can take it.
As an example, Mena did an interview on The View, and revealed she has a very troubling past of sexual abuse and drug use.
Who would have thought?
We sure didn’t.
Enjoying Mena’s career is like peeling an onion.
You’ll shed both tears of joy and sympathy.
Then you can’t wait for the next chapter to begin.
And the next movie.
