February 19, 2019,
Timeless and relevant a song becomes when its theme speaks to a feeling felt by many, in a most penetrating way, when they experience the same situation.
Berlin is an American new wave band originally formed in Orange County, California. The band gained mainstream-commercial success with their blockbuster hit “Take My Breath Away” from the 1986 film Top Gun.
Remember some of the lyrics?
Through the hourglass I saw you
In time you slipped away
When the mirror crashed I called you
And turned to hear you say
If only for today
I am unafraid
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
We bring this up because, as of this February 19, 2019 writing, a few days ago we turned on the news and our mouths dropped open.
Our breath was taken away.
One of the anchors was so beautiful that we couldn’t believe it. She literally made us stop and pause in wonderment.
How can someone be so beautiful?
Kaylee Hartung is a CNN news correspondent based in Atlanta. She reports across all of CNN’s television and digital platforms.
She formerly worked for ESPN where she contributed to the SEC Network, primarily on the show SEC Nation. She was a reporter for the Longhorn Network. She was formerly a CBSNews.com reporter on the daily Washington Unplugged program and featured correspondent for Unplugged Under 40.
Ms. Hartung was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from Episcopal High School in 2003. She earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Politics from Washington and Lee University, graduating in 2007.
At cnn.com they praise, “In 2018 Hartung spearheaded CNN’s coverage of the historic and contentious Georgia governor race between Brian Kemp and Stacy Abrams. She’s also reported from Parkland, Fl where 17 students were gunned down at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. During her time at CNN, Hartung has traveled across the U.S. reporting on natural disasters, whether flooding in North Carolina from Hurricane Florence, the deadly California Camp and Woolsey Wildfires or CNN’s Emmy-nominated hurricane coverage of 2017.”
Very impressive.
Absolutely gorgeous and incredibly bright too.
So this idea of beauty perfection is hard to achieve isn’t it?
Especially if you weren’t born that way.
If you are a woman who is desiring to achieve a more beautiful look (you’re already gorgeous), we have a suggestion.
Look to Sephora.
Sephora is a leader in global prestige retail, teaching and inspiring clients to play in a world of beauty. Owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world’s leading luxury goods group, Sephora has earned its reputation as a beauty trailblazer with its expertise, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit.
What intrigued us most was their subscription service. Were you aware that they had one?
In August 2015 it was announced that Sephora would launch a subscription service: Play! By Sephora. The monthly service offers boxes containing sample size products for a monthly fee.
Are you ladies ready to play?
Word on the street is that it is a very good one.
At Forbes Magazine they glow, “Buying cosmetics has always been tricky, since most products are sealed until the purchase is complete.
That’s where the beauty box comes in. Every month, a box arrives in your mailbox, letting you try a variety of products for a low monthly price.
Sephora’s experts curate each box, working with top brands. Recent boxes have included products from Benefit Cosmetics, Kat Von D, and Marc Jacobs Fragrances.”
Sounds like a great plan. Let’s go to the source and visit them at sephora.com.
They look so beautiful with a glamorous message, “At Sephora, beauty is in our DNA. Our revolutionary beauty-retail concept, founded in France by Dominique Mandonnaud in 1970, is defined by its unique, open-sell environment with an ever-increasing assortment of products from carefully curated brands, featuring indie darlings, emerging favorites, trusted classics, and Sephora’s own, SEPHORA COLLECTION.
Today, Sephora is not only the leading retailer of perfume and cosmetics stores in France, but also a powerful beauty presence in countries around the world thanks to its unparalleled assortment of prestige products in every category, unbiased service from experts, interactive shopping environment, and innovation.”
Very nice. We enjoyed that introduction and we are in awe of their global beauty power.
Please tell us more about your subscription service. They continue, “Every box comes with top products from the most buzzworthy brands. Based on your individual PLAY! profile, you’ll get a version with skincare, makeup, hair care, and fragrance trial sizes worth up to a $65 value.
Inside every box, you’ll receive a pass good for 50 bonus Beauty Insider points when you redeem it in store or online – use those points to get even more trial size samples at the Rewards Bazaar.*
Each month you’ll get exclusive videos, fun tutorials, and tons of hacks for your new products. Plus, see what subscribers are saying and share what you’re loving in the PLAY! community group.”
Good to know. Please remember that prices are always subject to change.
There is more good news. Are you a Social Media Influencer? Do you aspire to be one? If you say yes to both, there is something else you might consider.
Sephora announced that it’s accepting applications for its 2019 #SephoraSquad, which the company is describing as a different kind of beauty-influencer program.
In their interview with Allure Magazine they offered, “We celebrate the most authentic and inspiring voices in the digital beauty space. We value unique, unfiltered, sorry-not-sorry storytellers, no matter the number of followers they have,” reads the application website, sephorasquad.com. “That’s why the program offers long-term partnerships — a 2019 paid contract with Sephora — to those who share their beauty truths.”
And who ever said the truth hurts? Here? Your truth can be stunning, glamorous, elegant and beautiful as well.
The truth here will set you free.
The truth will get you paid.
Research indicates that applications are being accepted now through March 6, 2019.
The informative team at thisisinsider.com concurs. “In short, the #SephoraSquad will include a diverse range of beauty influencers to help promote new products, special events and even limited-edition campaigns. So whether you’re a budding beauty guru, an established pro or just obsessed with all things makeup, hair, and skin care, Sephora is encouraging you to apply and help them sprinkle that beauty goodness all over the Internet.”
Please go to their website for verification.
This certainly is an exciting program.
No doubt their long standing success has been based upon their purpose. They conclude, “Sephora believes every stroke, swipe and dab reveals possibility, and we share our client’s love for the confidence that our products, services, and expertise brings to their life every day. In every store, clients unlock their beauty potential at our Beauty, Skincare and Fragrance Studios through intuitive technology and guidance from the most knowledgeable and professional team of product consultants in the beauty industry.”
We would love to say more, but they have taken our breath away.
