Glancing across at a beautiful female wrestler before your session wrestling match may provide you with a feeling of confidence that athlete or not, I can do this. I can defeat her.
Glancing at Anna and her Black Sea Amazon contemporaries during their pre-match warmups lets you know pronto, that you or I or whatever army we could gather to fight these trained masters of fem mayhem……don’t even think about it.
These girls are tough with a capital T in flaming red.
One punch and you are down on the ground hoping someone will stop this thing.
When you watch the forerunner of today’s popular and lucrative women’s MMA fight game, who would have thought 10 to 15 years ago that of DWW’s entire array of women’s wrestling and fighting products that the BSA matches foretold the future.
Anna K in contrast to many of her BSA sisters has a very feminine and soft look. She certainly held her own and won many matches but at times I wondered, what is a soft, sexy woman like Anna doing in a potentially brutal situation like this?
This review seems to speak to Anna’s situation. “This tape is also an excellent introduction for you to survey the women participating at our summer event. They are sexily and elegantly dressed and you can check out their real strength. Sometimes you’ll be surprised how strong are the biceps of even mediocre wrestlers, whereas recognizably good fighters often seem to be lacking in muscle power compared to the extraordinarily high level of female strength gathered at a DWW summer event.”
In watching Anna take on Evgenia, it was a lesson in skill and the ability to absorb pain. The interesting aspect to me is that clearly all of the girls have strong wrestling skills, complete with the adept use of body scissors during the ground wars, for some reason they choose to participate in this more demanding and painful fare than wrestling. During this match, Ann took a strong blow to the nose more than once and in tears had to quit.
Her other match against Edina flowed better for her. In an outdoor setting with comfortable suburban houses in the background, Anna seemed right at home. Edina loved to fight complete with war whoops but Anna was not fazed by that and in a grueling match successfully mounted a victory.
A review on one of her other matches exclaims, “It is rare to have ko decisions in female boxing matches, especially when the amateurs are well trained in defense, but in these fights to a finish the girls forget defense to unleash a venom on each other which is probably beyond your wildest fantasy, in attempt to finish the fight in the earliest and most decisive way. And so it turns out – KO in every fight!”
Anna is from the Ukraine. At the time she was only 19 years old.
Her name on the other hand emanates from Anglo Saxon heritage and surprisingly means Name of a King.
The name comprehensive site sheknows.com shares, “People with this name have a deep inner desire for love and companionship, and want to work with others to achieve peace and harmony. They tend to be creative and excellent at expressing themselves. They are drawn to the arts, and often enjoy life immensely. They are often the center of attention, and enjoy careers that put them in the limelight. They tend to become involved in many different activities, and are sometimes reckless with both their energies and with money.”
Black Sea Amazons at times may have ominous overtones to the name as opposed to a name associated with the Pacific Ocean which frames the beautiful California coastline.
What cities frame the often stormy Black Sea?
Important cities along the coast include Batumi, Burgas, Constanța, Giresun, Hopa, Istanbul, Kerch, Mangalia, Năvodari, Novorossiysk, Odessa, Ordu, Poti, Rize, Sinop, Samsun, Sevastopol, Sochi, Sozopol, Sukhumi, Trabzon, Varna, Yalta and Zonguldak.
The Black Sea is a sea in Southeastern Europe. It is bounded by Europe, Anatolia and the Caucasus, and drains through the Mediterranean into the Atlantic Ocean, via the Aegean Sea and various straits.
I must humbly admit, most of these cities I know little about but are certainly worth study. For our travels today let’s focus on what is perhaps the most familiar one in Istanbul whose reputation was previously dipped in deep Black Sea fear based upon the powerful American film Midnight Express.
Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey, constituting the country’s economic, cultural, and historical heart. Istanbul is a transcontinental city in Eurasia, with its commercial and historical center lying on the European side and about a third of its population living on the Asian side of Eurasia.
With a population of 14.4 million, the city forms the largest urban agglomeration in Europe as well as the largest in the Middle East, and the sixth-largest city proper in the world.
A professional group that travels with no fear, tripadvisor.com brightens things up. “The mosques, bazaars, and Turkish baths of Istanbul could keep you happily occupied for your entire trip: an eyeful of breathtaking architecture here, a good-natured haggle over a carpet there. Kick your trip off at the awe-inspiring Sultan Ahmet Camii (Blue Mosque), which is visible from many points of the city. Stroll the Galata Bridge and stop by the Miniaturk Park to see its tiny artifacts. The Grand Bazaar has thousands of shops to browse, while the Egyptian Bazaar is a fragrant trove of spices and fruits.”
On July 2014, the informative news source, theguardian.com announces to us and the world the emergence of Istanbul as a global titan to watch with awe. “At a grand ceremony along the Black Sea, Turkey recently marked the start of construction on the world’s largest airport – six runways and 150 million passengers per year, at a projected cost of about $15bn (£8.8bn). “Istanbul is marking a historic day,” the prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the groundbreaking. “We’re building not just an airport, but actually a monument of victory today.”
Female wrestlers open the doors of the world to us if we are willing to open our minds and hearts.
Anna was fun to watch and thrilling to root for as a teen on an aggressive mission. She lived up to the hype and the fear that the Black Sea Amazons were a group of young women to be respected and feared.
