December 9, 2023,
Beautiful girls of mesmerizing fascination often became world famous from the living spaces of New York City.
It some ways, it started with the 1960s hit series, That Girl.
That Girl is an American TV series sitcom that ran on ABC from September 8, 1966, to March 19, 1971.
It starred Marlo Thomas as the title character, Ann Marie, an aspiring, who moves from her hometown of Brewster, New York, to try to make it big in New York City.
Imagine that.
Ann has to take a number of offbeat temp jobs to support herself in between her various auditions and bit parts. It was one of the first sitcoms to focus on an unmarried woman who was not a domestic or living with her parents, a forerunner of The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
What a huge ground breaking hit it was.
She was indeed, “That Girl”.
Today, in New York, we have an “It Girl” and she is deliciously filled with style and culinary delights and she is only 25.
This modern luminary is popular and making a great name for herself, posing with the likes of Martha Stewart, being featured in magazines and magically whipping up some delightful dishes, just in time for the holidays.
Meet Romilly Newman.
The team at the dynamic magazine architecturaldigest.com educate, “At 13 she became the youngest contestant ever to compete on Food Network’s Chopped. At 19 she began working at Cherry Bombe magazine, shifting afterward into full-time food styling for clients including Soho House and Oscar de la Renta. Today, alongside styling gigs, Romilly is a recipe and restaurant editor for Athena Calderone’s brand Eyeswoon.”
Many tasty morsels there.
Having said that, what exactly is Food Styling?
We shall turn to encyclopedia.com who explains, “Food styling is the art of preparing food to be photographed or filmed. The preparation, or styling, involved can be as deceptively simple as shopping for the perfect apple or as extreme as re-creating an elaborate, twelve-course belle epoque dinner party for fourteen. The creation of appealing images of food is a complex process.”
Shame on us. We did not know that.
What will they think of next?
So, we sense that would make Romilly a Food Stylist.
Sometimes the food is to be photographed for packaging, an advertisement, a cookbook or a magazine.
It may also be filmed as part of a television commercial, cooking show or movie. The styling of the food is the most important part of the process.
Way to go Romilly.
The informative legendary source townandcountrymag.com add, “Born and raised in New York to parents in the film industry, Newman is a young foodie who’s been cooking intricate meals and hosting ornate events since her adolescence.”
Delving into Romilly’s online life indicates she is big on traditions and family ties as she inculcates that into her work.
What an incredible lifestyle.
Rarely in life do you get to do what you absolutely love and then eat it.
So impressive.
Her Social Media website states, “Romilly’s unique yet discerning perspective across culinary, fashion, interior design, and travel is fueled by her passion to celebrate taste in all aspects of life.”
We came across Romilly’s delicious treasures and thought, especially during the holiday season, you should know who this young dynamo is.
We’re certain your dining table will be extremely happy that we did.
Is there more? Of course.
When it comes to Romilly’s resume and activities, we are just scratching the surface.
