November 17, 2022,
We have to admit it, but it may make us appear shallow. Trite even.
We love Paris Hilton.
There we said it.
Let’s just put it out there.
We love watching people achieve myriads of accomplishments, sometimes huge and small, shallow or important but do it while everyone is watching.
In watching one of the many reality television shows that Paris has starred in, we love her seemingly low key personality. Almost dead pan at times.
Was her house really robbed as the film Bling Ring depicts? She probably wasn’t so dead panned then.
Time for some basics.
Paris Hilton is an American media personality, businesswoman, model, entertainer, and socialite.
Not necessarily in that order.
Born in New York City, and raised there and in Beverly Hills, California, Ms. Hilton is a great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels.
She first attracted tabloid attention in the late 1990s, when she became a fixture in NYC’s social scene, and ventured into modeling at age 19.
After David LaChapelle photographed her and sister Nicky for the September 2000 issue of Vanity Fair, Hilton was proclaimed “New York’s leading It Girl” in 2001.
We really love this one.
The reality television series The Simple Life (2003–2007), in which she starred with her friend Nicole Richie, help catapult her into global fame.
Hog heaven.
In the show they lived for a month with a family in the rural community of Altus, Arkansas.
The series premiered on December 2, 2003 and was a ratings success. Its first episode attracted 13 million viewers, increasing Fox’s adult 18–49 rating by 79 percent.
More than famous for being famous, wouldn’t you say?
Hilton published her debut book, Confessions of an Heiress (2004), which became a New York Times Best Seller, landed her first major film role in the horror remake House of Wax (2005).
The movie wasn’t Gone with the Wind but for entertainment purposes, we actually enjoyed it.
Her media ventures include the reality television series Paris Hilton’s My New BFF (2008–2009), The World According to Paris (2011), Hollywood Love Story (2018), Cooking with Paris (2021), and Paris in Love (2021–2022); the documentaries Paris, Not France (2008), The American Meme (2018), and This Is Paris (2020); as well as her podcast, This is Paris (2021–present), on iHeartRadio.
Yes, that’s a lot. One busy heiress. At least she doesn’t let the grass grow under her feat. Nor feet.
Some would describe Paris as a polarizing and often derided celebrity.
Our darling is credited with influencing the revival of the “famous for being famous” phenomenon throughout the 2000s.
Quite an expression when you think about it.
That expression appears to place her in Kardashian territory. That has been said about one of America’s most famous families as well.
Wait a minute. There are many billionaire heiresses in the world that we’ve never heard of and some of them we think might want to be more famous than they are.
Paris just appears to be very good at it.
The famous for being famous thing makes you a household name, not through talent or work, but through inherited wealth and an extremely lavish lifestyle.
We see Paris as much more than that.
Our beautiful luminary has parlayed her media fame into numerous business endeavors. Under her company, she has produced content for broadcast media, launched a variety of product lines, and opened a chain of self-branded boutiques worldwide as well as an urban beach club in the Philippines.
Get this, her perfume line alone has brought in over US$2.5 billion in revenue to date.
You see what we mean? She got off to a great start but she has clearly taken her platform to a much higher level.
It does help to be an heiress in the Hilton Hotel and Resorts chain.
Hilton Hotels & Resorts is a global brand of full-service hotels and resorts and the flagship brand of American multinational hospitality company Hilton.
As of December 30, 2019, there are 584 Hilton Hotels & Resorts properties with 216,379 rooms in 94 countries and territories across six continents.
This includes 61 properties that are owned or leased with 219,264 rooms, 272 that are managed with 119,612 rooms, and 251 that are franchised with 77,451 rooms.
Did you get all of that?
In 2020, Fortune magazine ranked Hilton Hotels & Resorts at number one on their Fortune List of the Top 100 Companies to Work For in 2020 based on an employee survey of satisfaction.
Good to know.
We are ready to watch more recent Paris Hilton TV.
We mean that.
The American Meme is a 2018 American documentary film that explores the lifestyle and trajectory of four social media influencers. The film was directed, produced and written by Bert Marcus, and follows Paris Hilton, Emily Ratajkowski, DJ Khaled and Josh Ostrovsky as they work to create commercial brands out of their online presence.
We know Paris is going to outdo all of them.
The American Meme premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival, where it was acquired by Netflix.
Drum roll.
The purchase was recorded as one of the most high-profile documentary acquisitions of 2018. It was released as a Netflix Original on December 7, 2018.
She also is involved with a company that caught our eye. They are called Viome Life Sciences.
Who are they? What do they do?
At their home viomelifesciences.com they share, “A world class team of founders, scientists, translational scientists, nutritionists, researchers, doctors, and advisors focused on a single mission: help people live a healthy life.
Our team is dedicated to making the advancements in science, technology, and medicine accessible and more readily available to consumers, helping to create a disease free world where people can take control of their own health from the comfort of their own home.”
Their about page is pretty amazing. Loaded with some very talented resumes. https://www.viomelifesciences.com/about-us
Paris is more than just a rich pretty face. This girl is a true thinker.
Big thinker.
Productive thinker.
The wheels always seem to be turning and churning behind those secretive eyes.
That is in part why we just can’t stop watching her.
Reading about her.
Talking with you about her.
