Shining the brightest, for the longest time, without flaming out is the hope of most child geniuses.
Hollywood, the nation and the world can become obsessed with them.
This is why so many films about young Phenoms have become cult classics and captured box office attention.
Searching for Bobby Fischer is a 1993 American drama film written and directed by Steven Zaillian. The film stars Max Pomeranc, Joe Mantegna, Joan Allen, Ben Kingsley and Laurence Fishburne. It is based on the life of prodigy chess player Joshua Waitzkin, played by Pomeranc, and adapted from the book of the same name by Joshua’s father Fred.
Josh Waitzkin’s family discovers that he possesses a gift to play chess at the highest level and they seek to nurture it.
In the gymnastic world, young Simone Biles is capturing global attention.
Many young beautiful gymnasts can capture the world’s attention but Simone has been shining bright for an extremely long time.
“To create something exceptional, your mindset must be relentlessly focused on the smallest detail.”… Giorgio Armani
At her enjoyable and informative website http://www.gym-style.com/simonebiles/ we find a nice phenomenal foundation. “When Simone was six years old, she went on a daycare field trip to Bannon’s Gymnastix. She was having fun and started copying other gymnasts in the back of the gym. One of the coaches, Ms. Ronnie saw her and told Coach Aimee. They sent a letter home to her parents. Simone started taking recreational classes and the rest is history.
In Simone Biles‘ first season as a senior, she won the 2013 US national title — then took home the world all-around title two months later. Impressive? Absolutely. And now she’s done that two more years in a row.
With three straight world all-around titles, three US national titles, and 10 world gold medals (14 medals in all), Biles is simply unstoppable.”
And what a history it has been.
Our star was born on March 14, 1997.
She’s part of the growing artistic gymnastics community.
Ms. Biles is the three-time World all-around champion (2013-15), three-time United States national all-around champion (2013-15), three-time world floor champion (2013-15), two-time world balance beam champion (2014, 2015), and a member of the gold medal-winning American team at the 2014 and the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
Her star continues to surge into orbit.
She was a world all-around champion and the first woman to win three consecutive world all-around titles. Despite only three appearances, she is also the most decorated American female gymnast in World Championships history, with a total of fourteen medals, ten of them gold.
Securing ten gold medals, Simone also holds the record for most gold medals won by a female gymnast in the history of the World Championships.
Are you getting all of this?
We’re trying to catch our breath.
There is more.
As we move up the timeline, Simone competed at the 2015 AT&T American Cup at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on March 7. She placed first with a score of 62.299, 4.467 points ahead of second-place finisher U.S. teammate Mykayla Skinner.
Research indicates that she verbally committed to UCLA on August 4, 2014, announcing her decision on Twitter.
On July 29, 2015, she announced that she would turn professional, forfeiting her NCAA eligibility.
We can’t wait to see her dazzle the world at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Her highlights are so long, your hands will become sore from typing. We’re thankful to usagym.org for providing her career highlights for us.

It’s time to travel to Simone’s home town of Columbus, Ohio.
Columbus is the capital and largest (land size) city in Ohio.
It is the third largest metropolitan area in Ohio, behind Cleveland and Cincinnati.
It is also the fourth most populous state capital in the United States, and the third largest city in the Midwestern United States.
The city has a diverse economy based on education, government, insurance, banking, fashion, defense, aviation, food, clothes, logistics, steel, energy, medical research, health care, hospitality, retail, and technology.
It is also home to the NCAA football powerhouse Ohio State University, one of the largest universities in the United States.
Fast food giants Wendy’s and White Castle are also based in the Columbus, Ohio metropolitan area.
In 2012, Columbus was ranked in BusinessWeek‘s 50 best cities in America.
In 2013, Forbes gave Columbus an A rating as one of the top cities for business in the U.S., and later that year included the city on its list of Best Places for Business and Careers.
Look out San Francisco and San Jose. Columbus was also ranked as the no. 1 up-and-coming tech city in the nation by Forbes in 2008.
Like Simone, it’s great to be young in Ohio.
At the fun and educational site experiencecolumbus.com they gleam, “There’s an energy and excitement in Columbus that’s going to hit you as soon as you arrive. Big things are happening here, and you’re invited to join in. The city is booming, and not just in population.
The Columbus Museum of Art just added a spectacular new wing, and the Scioto Mile project puts 33 acres of new riverfront parkland in the heart of downtown.
The innovative food scene melds artisan food producers with imaginative chefs to create meals that are far greater than the sum of their parts.
Nationally acclaimed distilleries work together with brewers, coffee roasters and high-end cocktail bars, black box stages, music halls and dive bars to deliver unforgettable nightlife. Neighborhoods on all sides of downtown are bursting with new places to eat and shop, and artists are shaping new areas of the city into dynamic spaces to explore.
It’s time to get to know the Columbus that grew up when you weren’t looking.”
Columbus and Simone certainly have our attention.
“I’ve known people with exceptional talent – and some have wasted it. Ambition spurs a man on.”… Geoffrey Boycott
With a youthful spirit, unbridled ambition and dynamic charisma, we sense Simone is just beginning. She stands out as an exceptionally bright talent in a gymnastics world filled with unique luminaries.
If there is a movie in her future about a brilliant Phenom shining bright with no limits nor celestial boundaries, it’s destined to become a Hollywood classic.
