After spending years as fans in the women’s submission wrestling world, at the start of the year 2013, Fciwomenswrestling trekked into the collegiate female freestyle wrestling world to shake hands, make friends and try and unite the tribes of the women’s wrestling world from the lady pros to the submission competitors. Along the way, our research indicated after college, some from the freestyle world took some risks and ventured into the brutally tough MMA world to test their spine.
We applaud them.
When we researched Sybil we were a little surprised she was willing to make that leap but even more pleasantly surprised at how good she is as an MMA fighter. The girl is for real.
Butterfly guard, hook throw, scissor sweep, mounts, hammer fists, pass the guard and more, Sybil is surely familiar and skilled in ground chuck ingredients of MMA.

………Jennifer Granholm
Bluewater.org introduces this beautiful part of America to us. Along the eastern shores of Michigan lies a collection of communities that are boastful about the color blue. 140 miles of shoreline unites the quaint towns of Clay, Algonac, Marine City, St. Clair, Port Huron, Lexington, Port Sanilac, Harbor Beach and Port Austin.
Wikipedia expands on our journey sharing Lake Michigan has many beaches. The region is often referred to as the “Third Coast” of the United States, after those of the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.
The sand is often soft and off-white, known as “singing sands” because of the squeaking noise (caused by high quartz content) made when one walks across it. There are often high sand dunes covered in green beach grass and sand cherries, and the water is usually clear and cool (between 55 and 80 °F [13 and 27 °C]), even in late summer.

The sand dunes located on the east shore of Lake Michigan are the largest freshwater dune system in the world. In fact, in multiple locations along the shoreline, the dunes rise several hundred feet above the Lake surface. Large dune formations can be seen in many state parks, national forests and national parks along the Indiana and Michigan shoreline. Some of the most expansive and unique dune formations can be found at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
Birdjaguar.blogspot.com shares the dunes here cover an area of about 1 mile by 3 miles, separating Silver Lake from Lake Michigan. Vast areas have no vegetation at all, making you feel like you are in the middle of a desert with sand as far as the eye can see.
Sleeping Bear Dunes probably offers the most dramatic scenery along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Sand dunes rise steeply from the shore, reaching heights over 450 feet above the lake. In addition to the sand, there are tons of beautiful lakes in the area, along with rivers and rolling forested hills.
Finally, this description found at noreastshoreresort.com could describe many a vacation on the eastern shore. A peaceful and picturesque resort awaits you and your loved ones just outside Oscoda, MI. Go take a leisurely swim or head out in one of our many kayaks available for use by our guests. Enjoy the abundance of nature right outside your door while you reconnect and relax with family and friends.
What a great place to grow up.
Our hope is to one day see super star submission wrestlers like Sybil meet the female competitors who have graduated from the collegiate women’s wrestling programs in professional wrestling matches that apply a combination of agreed upon rules from both worlds sponsored by female friendly corporations.
One of our associates had a chance to meet Sybil at Jackpin’s fantastic 2008 women’s wrestling convention in San Diego. He remembers her first match on Saturday morning against newcomer Katrina Rosebud and how she excelled as the event went on. Sybil possessed a warm smile, was personable, engaging and very down to earth. We have seen many photos where Sybil is posing with some of the other competitors at the convention and you might want to contact her at sybilstarr.com or sstarrproductions.com regarding those and other photo set opportunities.
Confucius is quoted as saying, “The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential… these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.” Watching a super star like Sybil is an experience in wrestling precision. Try it some time.
Sybil Starr is proof that they seem to do things right in Michigan.
