October 6, 2019,
Satisfying life must be when you can have a very positive effect on the lives of young people across the United States.
Especially if they are female athletes seeking a scholarship. The opportunities are endless.
You can verify that by speaking with Ms. Lisa Strasman, the President of Next College Student Athlete (NCSA).
Are you familiar with the NCSA?
If you are the parent of a talented student athlete, you should be.
Next College Student Athlete (NCSA) is a for-profit organization that connects middle and high school student-athletes with college coaches. NCSA teaches middle and high school student-athletes about the college recruiting process.
The NCSA Athletic Recruiting team consists of coaches, scouts and former college athletes. NCSA Athletic Recruiting was included in the 2012 Inc. 5000, and in the top 20 of Crain’s Fast Fifty in both 2013 and 2012. The headquarters of NCSA Athletic Recruiting is in Chicago, Illinois.
Chris Krause is the founder and CEO of NCSA Athletic Recruiting.
This is a very family oriented process.
NCSA Athletic Recruiting teaches student-athletes and their parents about college recruiting.
NCSA Athletic Recruiting gives each student-athlete his/her own recruiting profile. On this profile, the student-athlete can create a public page to display his/her talents. Student-athletes’ academic grades and athleticism are evaluated by NCSA Athletic Recruiting scouts.
With this information, the scouts compose a list of colleges each student-athlete can realistically consider to both make the team and receive financial aid.
For those of us who have raised student athletes, we know obtaining a scholarship so that their college education is paid for is the ultimate dream.
As reported by US News, “Tuition and fees vary from college to college. Among ranked National Universities, the average cost of tuition and fees for the 2019–2020 school year was $41,426 at private colleges, $11,260 for state residents at public colleges and $27,120 for out-of-state students at state schools, according to data reported to U.S. News in an annual survey.”
Having Ms. Strasman for a President is an athletic organization’s dream. She brings a wealth of experience to her desk.
As shared by ESPN, “As the former captain of Yale’s women’s ice hockey team and a former professional hockey player, Lisa Strasman honed her team-building and leadership skills well before she became president of Next College Student Athlete, an organization that connects high school athletes to more than 42,000 college coaches.”
Lisa spent a season after college playing professional hockey in Switzerland before she started a career in technology sales.
From the NCSA headquarters in Chicago, she now oversees a team of more than 650 people across the country and guides the development of the organization’s proprietary software in matching student-athletes with potential schools.
Families often ask her how to make the right college choice. Most NCSA athletes receive multiple offers and athletic scholarship opportunities, and it can be tough to decide where to spend the next four years.
This is where NCSA can help. It is important to understand that the college a student chooses not only can affect their future employment opportunities, it is often the place where they will build lifetime relationships.
Lisa’s hard work, enthusiasm and commitment to student athletes and their parents is paying off.
It is time for her to enjoy the rewards, awards and fruits of her labor.
