Largely the measuring stick that speaks to the depth and meaning of our life is how we impact others in a positive way as we traverse along our self-directed journey.
If we become a parent, understandably our first priority is to guide and influence our children in the best way that we can.
But does our calling in life expand beyond that?
Can we influence others in our community and possibly across the globe to have a much better and productive life?
One occupation that provides a very powerful medium for those who choose to do so is the pathway of the successful actress or actor.
A beautiful young starlet on the rise who is doing that very thing, before she has children and a family, is Isabela Moner.
Isabela Moner is an American actress and singer best known for her lead role as CJ Martin on the Nickelodeon television series 100 Things to Do Before High School, her film roles as Izabella in Transformers: The Last Knight and Lizzie in Instant Family.
In May 2018, Ms. Moner was cast in the live action adaptation of Dora the Explorer, in which she will portray a teenage version of the character.
Isabela was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She is the daughter of Katherine, who was born in Lima, Peru, and Patrick Moner, who was born in Louisiana.
It was her role in another major blockbuster that caught our attention.

A sequel to 2015’s international hit Sicario, the film features Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, and Jeffrey Donovan reprising their roles, with our young star Isabela Moner, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Catherine Keener joining the cast.
The story relates to the drug war at the U.S.-Mexico border and an attempt by the United States government to incite increased conflict among the cartels.
The film is dedicated to the memory of Jóhann Jóhannsson, the composer of the first film, who died in February 2018. It received generally favorable reviews from critics, who called it a “brutal-but-worthy” follow-up to the first film, and praised Josh Brolin and Mr. Del Toro’s performances.
We loved Isabel’s role as the daughter of a drug kingpin who is marked for death.
Aren’t they always marked for death in that lifestyle by someone?
We first meet her in school where she gets in a fight and continues to demonstrate a feisty spirit that helps propel the film.
It is Isabel’s other film that she has expressed her delight and appreciation that it is having an impact on others in a very important way.

The film also stars Margo Martindale, Julie Hagerty, Tig Notaro, and Octavia Spencer.
It is directed by Sean Anders, who wrote the screenplay with John Morris, based in part on Mr. Anders’ own experiences.
Instant Family was released in the United States on November 16, 2018. It grossed over $118 million, and was called an “earnest, heartwarming comedy” by critics, who also praised the performances.
Here is the storyline.
Married couple Pete and Ellie Wagner, after being taunted by relatives who think they will never have kids, start considering the option of adopting a child.
Initially just tossing the idea around, they eventually decide to enroll in a foster parent’s course.
Two passionate social workers, Karen and Sharon, guide the hopeful parents on the steps to getting into becoming adoptive parents. The couples are brought to a fair where they have the chance to go up to kids that they are interested in adopting. Pete and Ellie walk by the teenagers, although Ellie shows hesitance over raising a teen, but one of the teens, Lizzy, informs Ellie that they all know no one wants to adopt the teens.
Impressed with Lizzy’s behavior, Pete and Ellie talk to Karen and Sharon over potentially taking her in.
Very symbolic.
On any given day, there are nearly 438,000 children in foster care in the United States. In 2016, over 687,000 children spent time in U.S. foster care. On average, children remain in state care for nearly two years.
As shared by childrensrights.org, “Many of America’s child welfare systems are badly broken — and children can suffer serious harm as a result. Some will be separated from their siblings. Others will be bounced from one foster care placement to another, never knowing when their lives will be uprooted next. Too many will be further abused in systems that are supposed to protect them. And instead of being safely reunified with their families — or moved quickly into adoptive homes — many will languish for years in foster homes or institutions.”
A study by the Children’s Advocacy Institute found that almost 50 California children died last year in foster care. More than 60 such children died in 2004.
Interestingly the state Department of Social Services collects data on how many children in foster care are injured, but not on how many die.
The Administration for Children and Families reported on November 30, 2017, “Newly released foster care and adoption data show an increase in the number of children in foster care and an increase in the number of adoptions from the U.S. child welfare system.
Announced by the Children’s Bureau at HHS’ Administration for Children and Families (ACF), data from the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) show the number of adoptions from foster care increased from 54,000 in Fiscal Year (FY) 2015 to 57,000 in FY 2016. The number of children in foster care at the end of FY 2016 increased to 437,500 from the 427,400 reported at the end of FY 2015.”
Isabela Moner wants to make their situations and world a much safer and better place for foster children.

She seems to have a strong social conscience and desire to impact others in and outside of her inner circle.
