At times, and hopefully not often, we find ourselves in an environment that we have little or no control over.
Being stuck in rush hour traffic is one of them.
That’s why they invented music for the car. Right?
But what if car stereos and CDs were never invented? What could we do then?
So much is about the powerful mind. It can be a magical place to go.
In there we can travel to faraway places, lie on the beach, be with gorgeous people and create any image that we want if we massage and control our thoughts.
“The mind is everything. What you think you become.”… Buddha
Eating something that is very good for us, though we may have this stigma about it, challenges us that mind should win over matter.
What comes to mind when you think of the taste of a lime? Tangy? Bitter? Sour? Not ripe yet?
If that is the case, then why eat them? Well, because they are very good for us and despite a common myth, they are not lemons ready to blossom. They are truly their own fruit.
Let’s try a mind game.
Every time that you think of why you should eat a lime mixed in a drink or food, think of a beautiful woman in green. Okay?
We’ll do the rest.
It will sort of be like subliminal advertising but instead of submerging it into your subconscious, we’ll be right up front with it. As the saying goes…..
Relax, you’re gonna like it.
Now for some healthy information. Please keep thinking that a lime is sexy and healthy for you.
A lime is a hybrid citrus fruit, which is typically round, lime green, 3–6 centimeters in diameter, and contains acidic juice vesicles.
There are several species of citrus trees whose fruits are called limes, including the Key lime, Persian lime, kaffir lime, and desert lime.
Now for the good stuff.
Limes are a rich source of vitamin C, and are often used to accent the flavors of foods and beverages. They are grown year-round. Plants with fruit called “limes” have diverse genetic origins; limes do not form a monophyletic group.
We have support at organicfacts.net. They add, “The health benefits of lime include weight loss, improved digestion, reduced respiratory and urinary disorders, relief from constipation, and treatment of scurvy, piles, peptic ulcer, gout, and gums. It also aids in skin care and eye care.
Lime, bearing the scientific name Citrus Aurantifolia, has been well known for its medicinal properties and uses in the treatment of various ailments for ages.
Lime consists of water and is an extremely good source of vitamin C. It is also rich in dietary fiber and minerals like calcium, iron, potassium, copper, magnesium, and phosphorous. The best thing about lime is that it has the least amount of calories, carbohydrates, and zero fats.”
Please keep thinking green because they are very different from lemons.
Lemons have slightly more vitamin C than limes, although their nutritional content is very similar in other respects. Lemons are also slightly less acidic than limes on the pH scale.
Well, there is a doctor in the house with something to say about the benefits of lime and her differences from lemons.
Please enjoy, with a tangy refreshment in hand.
