Isn’t she lovely?
Now located in New York City, this brilliant fashion magazine is fulfilling the dreams of beautiful young women who want to make a name for themselves in the Big Apple.
Cosmopolitan is an international fashion magazine for women.
Cosmopolitan’s circulation continued to decline for another decade until Helen Gurley Brown became chief editor in 1965. Brown remodeled and re-invented it as a magazine for modern single career women
Formerly titled The Cosmopolitan, the magazine was first published in 1886 in the United States as a family magazine; it was later transformed into a literary magazine and eventually became a women’s magazine in the late 1960s.
Often referred to as Cosmo, its content as of 2011 includes articles on women’s issues, relationships, sex, health, careers, self-improvement, celebrities, fashion, and beauty. Published by Hearst Corporation, Cosmopolitan has 64 international editions, is printed in 35 languages, and is distributed in more than 110 countries.
On September 2016, Michele Promaulayko was named the new Editor in Chief of Cosmopolitan after Joanna Coles was promoted to Chief Content Office of Hearst.
Hearst is one of the nation’s largest diversified media, information and services companies with more than 360 businesses. Its major interests include ownership in cable television networks such as A&E, HISTORY, Lifetime and ESPN; majority ownership of global ratings agency Fitch Group; Hearst Health, a group of medical information and services businesses;
30 television stations such as WCVB-TV in Boston and KCRA-TV in Sacramento, Calif., which reach a combined 19 percent of U.S. viewers; newspapers such as the Houston Chronicle, San Francisco Chronicle and Albany Times Union, more than 300 magazines around the world including Cosmopolitan, ELLE,Harper’s BAZAAR and Car and Driver; digital services businesses such as iCrossing and KUBRA; and investments in emerging digital and video companies such as Complex, BuzzFeed, VICE and AwesomenessTV.
Dreams of beautiful young professional women seeking to carve out a career in New York has played well on television.
Remember the TV show That Girl? It was the show that got all of this beautiful single woman and career pursuits started.
That Girl is an American sitcom that ran on ABC from 1966 to 1971.
It starred Marlo Thomas as the title character Ann Marie, an aspiring (but only sporadically employed) actress, who moves from her hometown of Brewster, New York, to try to make it big in New York City.
We travel in the time machine and meet the career minded girls of Sex and The City.
Sex and the City is an American romantic comedy television series created by Darren Star and produced by HBO. Broadcast from 1998 until 2004, the original run of the show had a total of 94 episodes. Throughout its six-year run, the show received contributions from various producers, writers, and directors, perhaps most significantly from Michael Patrick King.
Set and filmed in New York City and based on the 1997 book of the same name by Candace Bushnell, the show follows the lives of a group of four women—three in their mid-thirties and one in her forties—who, despite their different natures and ever-changing sex lives, remain inseparable and confide in each other.
That Girl was then, Sex And The City was before so who is the It Girl now?
Well she works for Cosmopolitan Magazine. Where else?
Diandra Barnwell, nice to meet you.
It’s so hard to get next to gorgeous sexy upscale girls so origin.nbcumv.com is kind enough to take us by the hand and meet her. “Diandra Barnwell is the brand coordinator for Cosmopolitan, the world’s largest women’s media brand. In her role, Barnwell contributes to special projects and events, in addition to supporting the chief of staff. She also works closely with the lifestyle editors, serving as a liaison for food and spirit brands for in-book coverage and sponsorship opportunities for live events.
Barnwell serves an Ambassador for The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unwanted Pregnancy on behalf of Cosmopolitan. She attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, and went on to graduate with degrees in both fashion design and business management. Barnwell is from Albuquerque, New Mexico.”
There is another in the know editor standing nearby. At bcouleur.com they add, “Diandra is a two-time graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, with degrees in fashion design and business management. She is an extreme fashion enthusiast, with a strong emphasis on editorial facets including writing, styling, and designing.”
Diandra was named Cosmopolitan Magazine’s newest Editorial Assistant in November 2012, after winning the position while competing on the CBS reality show “The Job”.
We first saw Diandra on SoCosmo.
So Cosmo is an American reality television series that premiered on February 8, 2017, on the E! cable network.
The show follows the personal and professional lives of several young people working for Cosmopolitan, an American magazine for women.
Now while Ms. Joanna Coles is clearly the star, Diandra is the honey that we bees are mesmerized and attracted to.
Besides being drop dead sexy, she is vibrant, vivacious, not afraid to confront when warranted and will dump one of the most handsome fitness guys east of Michigan if falling in love with him gets in the way of her career.
Her solo conversations and explanations in front of the camera are highly anticipated.
And why shouldn’t she be so bubbly and happy? Celebrities often pop by to say hello to the staff including Tyra Banks and Ashley Graham.
When asked at ed2010.com about what career advice she would give to young women who want to follow her pathway, she smiled, “For me, the most important thing I have to remember is to not to compare my career to others around me. There was a time that all my friends were getting jobs and I was still interning — it was very frustrating and discouraging! I realize now that I just had a different path, and I can’t complain about how things turned out. In the end do what is right for you!”
We enjoyed watching the entire series, binge watching.
We enjoyed watching Diandra Barnwell even more because she’s clearly this generation’s “That Girl.”
