When you are a major block buster film in pre-production. Let’s face it, like its women, Montreal is one artful and gorgeous city.
One film that loved getting shot in Montreal was Short Code.
Source Code is a 2011 American-French science fiction thriller film directed by Duncan Jones, produced by Mark Gordon, Jordan Wynn, and Philippe Rousselet, and written by Ben Ripley. It stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a U.S. Army captain who is sent into a computed reality to find a bomber; additionally starring Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga, and Jeffrey Wright. The film had its world premiere on March 11, 2011 at South by Southwest, and was released by Summit Entertainment on April 1, 2011 in North America and Europe.
The film received acclaim from critics upon its release and became a box office success, grossing over $147.3 million worldwide.
It is therefore very appropriate that Source Code was primarily shot in Montreal because if there is ever a city that can make you forget your questionable past, love your present and look forward to the future, it’s glorious Montreal.
We bring up this subject because the only thing more exciting than getting shot (by camera) in Montreal is having a life altering session with some of the gorgeous girls of Eastern Canada.

Toronto? Yes we know that is in Eastern Canada. Great city. Oh, travel there too? Okay. Good idea. Next story for sure. Since we’ve been on the subject, let’s travel to Montreal first.
The 2014 estimate of the population of the metropolitan area of Montreal is 4.1 million. French is the city’s official language and is the language spoken at home by 56.9% of the population of the city, followed by English at 18.6% and 19.8% other languages (in the 2006 census).
Montréal is the largest city in Canada’s Québec province. It’s set on an island in the Saint Lawrence River and named after Mt. Royal, the triple-peaked hill at its heart.
The stellar travel site lonelyplanet.com has been, seen and dined in Montreal. They are always so willing to share. “Montréal is a slice of old Europe in a pie of contemporary design. That was a nice comprehensive view. Always consistent, the New York Times, they begin to pin point.
At nytimes.com they entice, “In Montreal, it can sometimes seem that the dining scene is all about animal products: the smoked meat sandwich at Schwartz’s, and the Melting Pot of meat at Au Pied de Cochon, not to mention its entire foie gras menu section. There’s even a popular (and very good) restaurant called Joe Beef.”
Okay, let’s visit Swartz. You’ll be in good company. The global singing sensation Celine Dion loves it there.
The super fun site thrillist.com has hung out there too. “Schwartz’s might be Montreal’s most famous export, followed closely by its smoked-meat-loving co-owner, Celine Dion — and it routinely turns traveling Americans into border smugglers.”
The Huffington Post is always in on everything hip. They love Celine also and provide us with more on August 25, 2016. “Between working on her new album, performing at her Vegas residency and summer tour, not to mention launching a new fashion line, it’s safe to say Céline Dion is keeping herself busy. But even the busiest people need to stop and enjoy lunch.
On Tuesday, the Grammy-winning singer appeared at Montreal’s famous Schwartz’s treating diners to a free lunch in honor of her late husband and former Schwartz’s co-owner René Angélil.”

Schwartz’s, also known as the Montreal Hebrew Delicatessen, is a delicatessen restaurant and take-out, located at 3895 Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal, Quebec. It was established in 1928 by Reuben Schwartz, a Jewish immigrant from Romania.
Schwartz’s is the most famous remaining Montreal-style smoked meat restaurant. The restaurant also sells smoked meat by mail order. It is kosher style rather than kosher.
The staff of Schwartz’s credits the unique flavor of their smoked meat to their mandatory 10-day meat curing time, the high turnover of their meat, and their brick smoke-house covered with over 80 years-worth of buildup.
We scratched the surface since there is so much to do and see in incredible Montreal.
We scanned high and low to find the beautiful Session Girls who further make Montreal come alive, and while we would love to get shot there (by camera only), this Eastern Canadian Jewel……
