If an actress possesses a war chest of television work and movies that are primarily comedies and tired coming of age retreaded Indie plots, you’ll probably never see a 1,000 word article researched and dedicated to her on our glorious pages.

Don’t believe us?

Think of an actress who in your opinion fits that description, insert her name in our search engine and see if it comes up.

We dare you.

No we double D dare you.

We say that humbly of course.

Part of the reason that it shouldn’t come up is because we are not really in to comedies because so many are poorly done, are clones of other ones done worse or perhaps slightly better but tend not to ring the deeply emotional door bells that supply us with our tear jerker fix while we’re curled up on the living room couch with a box of Kleenex, popcorn, cashews, herbal soda and grapes.

Please try and understand what we are saying here. We don’t need their entire resume to swell with deep movies that speak to major social issues.

Just one or two is fine.

Rooney Mara absolutely pulled it off in the Indie film Una. Liv Tyler broke our hearts in Onegin. Julie Delpy had us crying over and over in the late legendary Sam Shepard’s timeless classic Voyager. Long before she alienated the world in a good way (Alien), Sigourney Weaver had us sympathetic in perhaps one of Mel Gibson’s best films, The Year of Living Dangerously.

Thus when it is research time, as deep as we sometimes like to feel, what catches our attention first is if the actress, fitness girl or model in particular is absolutely gorgeous.

No make that great looking.

The actress Kat Dennings is great looking.

Sometimes she can even pass for a curvy model. That is a major plus (yes pun intended).

Okay, so far, so good.

Let’s look at the resume of this real life very rich girl who plays a broke girl. The first red flag was how come we don’t really know much about her?

Then we saw her resume.

Hmm, lots of comedies and Indie……well, work.

That’s why we haven’t heard of her. Still, she is so gorgeous we decided to view some of her online interviews and we loved the bit with Conan. But then again, Conan can make everyone look funny and witty even when they aren’t.

We delved further and really liked what we saw.

You might already know her from Two Broke Girls but why don’t we flesh out her resume.

Katherine Litwack, known professionally as Kat Dennings, is an American actress.

After making her acting debut in an episode of the HBO dramedy series Sex and the City, Ms. Dennings has since appeared in films including The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Big Momma’s House 2 (2006), Charlie Bartlett (2007), The House Bunny (2008), Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (2008), Defendor (2009), Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). From 2011 to 2017, she starred alongside Beth Behrs in the hit CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls.

Our curvy beauty often plays rebellious characters with a sarcastic sense of humor

Okay, we admit that we have not seen any of her work. Maybe if she had done Big Momma’s House One instead of Two or Really Big Momma’s Kitchen Four, we might have caught it.

Talk about deep stuff.

We looked up some of the trailers and the most promising one that we saw is the one not listed here in Daydream Nation.

Daydream Nation is a 2010 Canadian drama film written and directed by Michael Goldbach. It features Kat Dennings, Reece Thompson, and Josh Lucas. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2010.

The storyline goes, Seventeen-year-old Caroline Wexler (Kat Dennings) and her father move from a large city to a small town where an industrial fire burns endlessly and many of the students in her new high school seem to be permanently stoned. One of Caroline’s classmates, Thurston Goldberg (Reece Thompson), quickly falls for her after they first meet at a party. Caroline is attracted to her high school English teacher Mr. Anderson (Josh Lucas) and the two begin to have sex.

Having sex with your high school teacher is not quite the “deep” we were thinking of.

So we are waiting.

She certainly has the potential to do something emotionally substantial especially when you view her past experiences.

She was once quoted as expressing, “I can say that I had a particularly painful teenage-hood. I felt pretty alienated most of the time because I wanted to become an actress from an early age and was made fun of relentlessly.”

Research has it that she collects old books and is a voracious reader.

Kat was born and raised in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and her mother is a Poet.

Bryn Mawr is Welsh for “Big hill”.

It is a census-designated place located across Radnor and Haverford Townships in Delaware County, Pennsylvania and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, just west of Philadelphia along Lancaster Avenue (US-30) and the border with Delaware County. Bryn Mawr is located toward the center of what is known as the Main Line, a group of affluent Philadelphia suburban villages stretching from the city limits to Malvern.

It has a deep and rich history. The educational site brynmawrpa.org shares, “As is the case with most towns in Pennsylvania, the area of what is now Bryn Mawr was a part of the land charter given to William Penn by King Charles II in 1681. In 1683, fellow Quaker Rowland Ellis purchased 800 acres from Penn in an area just north of the town. Ellis surveyed the land and built a two story stone mansion, which still stands today. After putting his affairs in order back in England, Ellis returned permanently to the area and named his farm Bryn Mawr.

As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 3,779. Bryn Mawr is home to Bryn Mawr College.

Katharine Hepburn, actress, four-time Academy Award recipient, graduated from Bryn Mawr College.

Are we hoping that she will follow a little more in Ms. Hepburn’s footsteps?

Yes, kind of. Sort of? Is that asking too much? Given Kat’s exceptional talent, we don’t think so.

We are going to keep a closer eye on Kat Denning’s movie career and we think that you should too.

Yes she has done some great work but we say it with mild seriousness that an emotional classic is in her future.

With a large supply of Kleenex in the storage cabinet, when it happens, we will be ready.
