Russia dared to look westward during their founder Peter the Great’s reign beginning on May 27, 1703. Described as the most westernized city in Russia, as well as its cultural gem, the artistic city has raised children who dare to be different.
Children who dare to stand out.
The feminine strong and beautifully shaped Russian model Juliya Lavrova is such a person.

Artistic communities around the world are happy to welcome artists from other parts of the globe in a sign of solidarity and appreciation.
Despite their challenging common history, Russia and America did that so beautifully in the 1985 film White Nights, an American drama directed by Taylor Hackford and choreographed by Twyla Tharp and stars Mikhail Baryshnikov, Gregory Hines, Jerzy Skolimowski, Helen Mirren and Isabella Rossellini.
The global collaboration was shot in Finland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union and Austria.
The film is notable both for the dancing of Hines and Baryshnikov and for the Academy Award winning song “Say You, Say Me” by Lionel Richie in 1986, as well as “Separate Lives” performed by Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin and written by Stephen Bishop.
Who can forget Lionel Richie’s timeless magical hit ‘Say You Say Me’ that has been the theme song to many artistic endeavors.
So many good things came out of the project including how Taylor Hackford met his future wife, Academy Award-winning actress Helen Mirren, during the filming.
The film tells the story of a Soviet ballet dancer who has defected to America and an American tap dancer who has defected to Russia. The Russian is on a flight to Japan when the jet is forced to crash-land in Siberia and so he is once again in the hands of the society he has rejected.

Those of us who love the look of Russian women, and there are legions, are aware that among the general populace there are shapely girls a plenty.

They also participate in machine building, heavy machinery and transport, including tanks and other military equipment, mining, instrument manufacture, ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy (production of aluminum alloys), chemicals, , medical equipment, publishing and printing, food and catering, wholesale and retail, textile and apparel industries, and many other businesses.
If you decide to visit Russia, traveling to St. Petersburg is a must.
