Why is it that the lessons from a simple expression and life philosophy that has been around for thousands of years is still hard for many of us to grasp and apply today?
Confucius was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher who lived from September 28, 551 to 479 BC. The philosophy of Confucius emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice and sincerity.
He was once quoted as saying, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
Many of us didn’t get the memo.
As reported in a May 17, 2012 article in the always emotionally reliable Psychology Today, “According to CareerFinders.com, four out of five Americans do not have their ideal jobs. It’s not always easy to do what you love for a career, but it’s definitely possible. Some of us are told from a young age to follow the expectations of family and society rather than to investigate one’s own horizons. This can lead to professional success, at the expense of meaning and fulfillment.”
One such beautiful young woman that is bucking the trend is the colorful and dynamic Indie wrestler from Auckland, New Zealand, Toni Storm who clearly enjoys what she is doing.
When you are asked if you can do a job, tell ’em, ‘Certainly I can!’ Then get busy and find out how to do it.…..Theodore Roosevelt
Most would probably agree that being a professional wrestler is typically not following the expectations of family and society.
Good for Toni.
She has traveled the world and wrestled primarily in the United Kingdom and Australia.
When you review her videos, adorned in bright colors and stocked with even more colorful moves, Toni is an Indie having tons of fun.
Viewed on speed dial she engages the audience as she takes on the flaming Red Head Kay Lee Ray, showcasing two young women on an energetic show stopping rise. Against Marcella Mitchell at a small venue packed with a passionate crowd the two girls are clearly paying their dues and cementing the building blocks to propel them to the next level.
This is where it starts. They clearly have a workman’s attitude.
Tennessee Honey came to town and Toni took her to town before an energetic audience where the girl’s fell out of the ring and into the audience and accidentally bumped into a woman in the crowd and Toni took the time out to rub the woman’s leg and make sure that she was okay.
Whether it’s at a sports bar in her match against Nakita Naridian or under studio lights similar to her matches against Courtney and Violet Vendetta, Toni’s matches are an electra glide in paisley colors, pastel pink and black, featuring beautiful young women with strong athletic bodies who know how to work and entertain a crowd.
Curiously when you view Toni’s overall record, competitive though they may be, she has lost a few more matches than she has won but given her master blaster style, the audience still loves her.
Here is what two customers had to say at cagematch.com
“Ms. Storm is quite impressive. She started wrestling in 2013 in Australia but has done most of her ring work in England against some very seasoned wrestlers. While her record doesn’t reflect positive wins she has been very competitive with her ring opponents. She has the size and speed and knows the moves to sell the show. Her good looks doesn’t hurt neither.”
Another fan is equally enamored. “A tremendous talent, a great worker, great psychology, great at working the audience. I enjoy the work and dedication she puts in (doesn’t matter if it’s the main even or not, she always puts on a bout like it was a main event). Very passionate about being in the wrestling business, I’m devastated that Toni Storm isn’t in the big leagues.”
Don’t worry, she’s headed there.
It’s time that we head to Toni’s roots and visit Auckland.
Scenic Auckland is based around 2 large harbors and is a major city in the north of New Zealand’s North Island. In central Queen Street, the iconic Sky Tower has views of Viaduct Harbor, which is full of super yachts and lined with bars and cafes. Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park, is based around an extinct volcano and home to the formal Wintergardens. Mission Bay Beach is minutes from Downtown.
Sounds like a fantastic cultural paradise to grow up in.
The group at lonelyplanet.com have seen many places wide and wonderful and they obviously love Auckland. “Paris may be the city of love, but Auckland is the city of many lovers, according to its Māori name, Tāmaki Makaurau. Those lovers so desired this place that they fought over it for centuries.
It’s hard to imagine a more geographically blessed city. Its two harbors frame a narrow isthmus punctuated by volcanic cones and surrounded by fertile farmland.
Whether it’s the ruggedly beautiful west-coast surf beaches, or the glistening Hauraki Gulf with its myriad islands, the water’s never far away. And within an hour’s drive from the city’s high-rise heart, there are dense tracts of rainforest, thermal springs, wineries and wildlife reserves. No wonder Auckland is regularly rated one of the world’s top cities for quality of life and livability.”
Wow. What an endorsement.
As Fem Competitor Magazine researched this land of fascination, one place that stood out as supreme fun for the kids is Clevedon Animal Farm. Children of all ages enjoy party fun with the animals including hand-feeding small animals on the farm walk, leading the ponies, grooming, and many donkey or pony rides.
Toni is still a kid at heart.
Maybe that is what having a job that you love does for you. At her Facebook she smiles broadly proclaiming her love for donuts and in case you didn’t know it, she is a student studying Nutritional Medicine.
That sounds like a fantastic career option as well.
The Indie world is blessed to have a superb talent like Toni Storm. She is beautifully compact with strong sexy legs, sensational blonde hair and enough energy to light Sky Tower.
If Toni’s career is a measuring stick to go by, having a job that you love where you travel the world and have a powerful effect on others is a perfect way to spend your youth and additionally live a very satisfying and happy life.
Confucius would be proud.
