Sir Sean Connery dressed in James Bond emotional armor was probably the most regal, effective, lethal and handsome rogue for the Queen that ever existed.
In his duty to her majesty he found himself in many situations where he wished he didn’t belong, but did.
To understand his plight, you had to be there, and so did he. For you it was optional.
Sean Connery the actor was exceptional at portraying characters when discovered in various settings had you wondering what in the world is a person like him doing in a place like this? That was the case when he portrayed the brilliant eccentric literary recluse in Finding Forrester and once again in the intense High Noon out in space thriller called Outland.
The respected art industry site imdb.com explains, “In the distant future, a police marshal stationed at a remote mining colony on the Jupiter moon of Io uncovers a drug-smuggling conspiracy, and gets no help from the populace when he later finds himself marked for murder.”
There is an absolute classic scene when Sean Connery’s marshal character confronts the corrupt Mining Operations Manager in his office played by the stellar Peter Boyle who is at his villainous best. The Manager basically asks the Marshal what he is trying to prove relating words to the effect, “What is it with guys like you? If you were such a super cop what are you doing on a company mining operation? They didn’t send you here as a reward for your sterling service. You know that and I know that.”
Why was the Marshal there? He had to prove everyone who doubted him wrong and he did in space stars.
I have to admit when I reviewed the absolutely stunning Santana Garrett’s wrestling matches online in the Indie Circuit, playing to the small to medium town crowds in gyms and converted bars I kept wondering to myself why is she here?
She is an absolute super star.
When she and her opponent enter the ring there seems to be a marked difference in star power.
Santana is in a class by herself.
That was apparent when she had the opportunity to team with the popular blonde Amber O’Neal for Women of Wrestling, aka WOW!, a professional wrestling promotion founded in 2000 by David McLane, previously the founder of Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. It is based in Los Angeles, California and relaunched in 2012.
This announcement from wrestlingnewscenter.blogspot.com came as no surprise either. “Santana Garrett, a female independent wrestler best known for her time with SHINE Wrestling, has signed a deal with TNA. Garrett is from Florida and has appeared for the company in the past including the “One Night Only: Knockouts Knockdown” event in 2013.”
Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling is an American privately held professional wrestling promotion based in Nashville, Tennessee, dealing primarily in professional wrestling, with major revenue sources also coming from live events, product licensing, and direct product sales. Founded by its former President, Jeff Jarrett, and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jerry Jarrett, in 2002 as J Sports & Entertainment, LLC, it is one of the largest wrestling promotions in the world and the second-largest in the United States after WWE.
Ah, now that’s where a super girl like Santana belongs.
The way ‘star’ used to be reserved for a small number of people, and when the star category became so vast, they came up with ‘superstar,’ and then they came up with ‘megastar.’…….Tom Stoppard
Her climb up the wrestler ladder is a storied one.
Santana Garrett was born on May 22, 1988. She is an American model, professional wrestler and valet currently signed to Global Force Wrestling (GFW). She is best known for her work in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and on the independent circuit. She currently holds 13 championships, including the NWA World Women’s Championship and the Shine Championship.
Ms. Garrett began her career in Bruno Sassi‘s South Florida based Coastal Championship Wrestling on November 27, 2009 event, where she defeated Kimberly to win the CCW Ladies Championship in her debut match.
Santana made her debut for Pro Wrestling Xtreme on June 18, 2011 at the PWX Wrestlewar, where she was defeated by former WWE Diva Jillian Hall in her return match.
She’s known as one of the top 50 women professional wrestlers in the world and the first ever female to hold the Florida Cruiserweight Championship.
She has two sisters and five brothers. Ms. Garrett has stated: “My dad taught me a lot about the business growing up. He used to wrestle in St. Louis and other territories, and I knew I wanted to become a wrestler as well.”
She is a second-generation professional wrestler, with her father Kenny Garrett having worked as “TNT” Kenny G.
Her story is so varied that it would take a book to do it justice.
Watching her videos is an experience in non-top excitement.
Her match against Justine Silver was a clinic in Santana’s amazing acrobatic abilities, her showmanship, electric and creative outfits and her ability to take punishment, scripted or not. She knows the high flying Monkey Flips, how to escape an excruciating back breaker and how to work the crowd.
The new world of women’s wrestling is adorned with gorgeous girls sporting the fitness model look in fitness shorts, high leg boots and sparkling hair and makeup.
Santana fits this description perfectly. When she not performing in title fights she’s subject to lose like any Indie pretty as she did to Sassy Stephie. Once again Santana clearly looks like she belongs in the big leagues and when she works the small towns in the Indie Circuit it’s like a movie star is visiting.
In these venues instead of boots on the ground its boots to the face and our Ocala beauty can take a punch and a boot as well as any one.
Another title match found her against Indie Princess Stormie and as predicted Santana brings her “A” game and defeats the sexy, shapely blonde.
In June 2015, it was announced that Garrett had signed a contract with Global Force Wrestling. She debuted for the promotion on their July 9 show in Appleton, Wisconsin in a winning effort against Melanie Cruise.
The reviewers seem to agree that Santana is a star shining bright. The respected wrestling site cagematch.net shares two observations.
One fan expresses, “I love anything Santana Garrett is involved with. She’s a major star of the future (hopefully). I was more than amazed at her work when I first saw her during her TNA run as Brittany.”
Another smiled, “Athletic and attractive young lady with some flashy moves and a good amount of natural charisma. Still perhaps working on stringing offense together, but that will come with time. At first I thought Santana was best-suited as a smiling, fan-friendly baby face, but her work in TNA as crazy-chick Brittany – though sadly cut short – showed that she’s more versatile than just that. Hope to see more of her in the future.”
We all hope to see more of this dynamic princess in the future but for now why don’t we briefly look into her past at her place of birth Ocala, Florida.
Many historic homes are preserved in Ocala’s large residential Historic District, designated in 1984. East Fort King Street features many excellent examples of Victorian architecture. Ocala structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places include the Coca Cola Building, the E. C. Smith House, East Hall, the Marion Hotel, Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, the Ritz Historic Inn, and Union Train Station.
The great state of Florida invites you to have a visit at its enjoyable site visitflorida.com. “Tucked into north central Florida in a region known as “horse country,” Ocala offers visitors winding community pathways lined with oak trees and dangling trellises of Spanish moss, and the opportunity to explore miles of untainted nature.
If the prospect of canoeing down a crystal clear stream amid the largest sand pine forest in the world sounds appealing, Ocala and surrounding Marion County are more than worth your time. The region’s freshwater streams, rolling hills and clean air remain unspoiled and have been used for Hollywood movies. Nearby is Silver Springs, a national landmark and nature theme park on 350 acres.”
James Bond was certainly happy to find himself in this scenic paradise since the films Thunderball, Never Say Never Again and Moonraker were filmed here.
The regional site ocalamarion.com sings Ocala’s praises as well. “Summer vacations are one of the most treasured and highly anticipated times of the year. It’s a season when life-long memories are made, and for many families a summer road trip is an unforgettable and forever cherished experience. Families, couples or friends looking for an exciting and distinctive stop on their summer adventure can explore countless attractions, both on land and water, throughout Ocala/Marion County, one of Florida’s original travel destinations. See breathtaking sights including sun-drenched hiking trails through lush forests, crystal clear fresh water springs, lakes and rivers and limestone canyons.”
Sounds like fun.
Here is another reason that we a Femcompetitor Magazine sing Santana’s praises too.
The girl is a risk taker and has guts.
You have to if you are willing to cross over into the MMA fully competitive female submission wrestling world especially if you are from a wrestling culture where your matches are primarily scripted and the winner pre-determined.
Santana climbed in the ring for real and competitively wrestled against Sammie at a competitive site name Freshfite.com. You should check it out. The match was sexy and intense.
It’s easy to fall in love with Santana Garrett.
As great a career that she has had, there is no doubt that the best is yet to come. She’s gorgeous, passionate, entertaining and no matter what wrestling situation she finds herself in, she shines.
There are Stars, Super Stars, Mega Stars and above them all, there is Santana Garrett.
