Pursuit of important goals requires a potpourri of internal elements to place you in a position to have a high probability of success. Determination, sacrifice, creativity, strong people skills and a well thought out plan would fit on the progress puzzle very nicely.
There is one aspect of the plan that often remains left off or avoided and thus over time makes continual achievement null and void. What is that?
The ability to change.
Just because something has worked well for the past few years does not mean that it will continue to do so. Adapting to a new environment and trying to be ahead of the curve is essential.
Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.……..George Bernard Shaw
This seems to speak to the phenomenal career of the Indie Wrestling Star Kelly Klein who changed her name from Mary Elizabeth Monroe.
She had her reasons and given the brilliant success of her wrestling career, it’s hard to question her decision making skillsets.
If you have not heard of this Indie Beauty already, Femcompetitor Magazine would like to introduce the female submission wrestling community to Kelly.
Her Facebook page sets the initial pacing. “Professional wrestler Kelly Klein- formerly known as Mary Elizabeth Monroe. Currently performing with Ring of Honor- Women of Honor. Available for bookings. Trained by Les Thatcher, BJ Whitmer, Tarek Puska, and Jimmy Yang.”
When you visit prowrestlingwikia.com they inform, “Debuting in 2007, Klein first wrestled as Mary Elizabeth on the June 9 edition of HWA.”
The list of companies that she has wrestled for, the number of women that she has defeated and the awards and accomplishments achieved are extensive.
They also explain what she has done most recently. “Klein debuted on October 24, 2015 at ROH Glory By Honor XIV: Champions Vs. All Stars, defeating Ray Lyn. On December 19 taping, of ROH (aired January 16, 2016), Klein wrestled and won a Dark Four Corner Survival match against Kimber Lee and Taeler Hendrix and Veda Scott. During the ROH Winter Warriors Tour on January 15, Klein defeated Solo Darling in a dark match singles. She wrestled again on February 6, 2016 in a second dark match defeating Taeler Hendrix.”
When watching her wrestle on video she clearly is a wrestler with a plan and a continually adaptive and changing persona. Her personality truly exudes charisma.
In an interesting interview with the leading women’s ring wrestling website, ladysports.com, when asked about women entering into the game her response was revealing. She related, “I think that women have a long way to go to prove themselves. Too many women have entered the business and decided that they didn’t have to try hard and that makes us all look bad. But there are a lot of women who DO work hard and ARE very capable, and it is up to us to turn the tide and improve the reputation of women’s wrestling.”
Good points all.
Kelly is from Ohio, the Buckeye state. She has spent some time in St. Louis as well.
What we found very intriguing was where she attended school in her earlier years. You would never guess.
Botswana in Africa.
Let’s travel there.
Botswana is a landlocked country located in Southern Africa. Formerly the British protectorate of Bechuanaland, Botswana adopted its new name after becoming independent within the Commonwealth on 30 September 1966. Since then, it has maintained a strong tradition of stable representative democracy, with a consistent record of uninterrupted democratic elections.
Botswana is topographically flat, with up to 70 percent of its territory being the Kalahari Desert. It is bordered by South Africa to the south and southeast, Namibia to the west and north, and Zimbabwe to the northeast
A mid-sized country of just over 2 million people, Botswana is one of the most sparsely populated nations in the world. Around 10 percent of the population lives in the capital and largest city, Gaborone.
This aspect of the country’s willingness to change and adapt is remarkable.
Formerly one of the poorest countries in the world—with a GDP per capita of about US$70 per year in the late 1960s—Botswana has since transformed itself into one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, now boasting a GDP (purchasing power parity) per capita of about $18,825 per year as of 2015, which is one of the highest in Africa.
This is a powerful reflection of the importance of change.
There is at least one more element of rich excitement to this evolving nation for the adventurous tourist to delve into.
The widely followed travel site lonelyplanet.com shares, “Blessed with some of the greatest wild life spectacles on earth, Botswana is one of the great safari destinations in Africa. There are more elephants in Botswana than any other country, the big cats roam free and there’s everything from endangered African wild dogs to aquatic antelopes, from rhinos making a comeback to abundant birdlife at every turn.”
Kelly has been blessed to have experienced life as most only dare dream about. She continues to seek adventure.
An entrepreneur as well as a ring star, Kelly sells Mary Kay Products, a group that supports important causes. Being involved in the prevention of violence against women is one pathway of outreach.
At Kelly’s site, on February 2, 2016, Mary Kay Company explains, “Hundreds gathered at the Georgia State Capitol for ‘Stop Violence Against Women Day,’ an annual event drawing attention to the issue of domestic violence and sexual assault. Mary Kay Inc., which provides financial support to organizations in Georgia and throughout the country that work to end violence against women, served as the primary sponsor for the event.
Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants stood alongside advocates in a united effort to urge legislators to pass SB193 to strengthen Georgia’s existing Family Violence law. The proposed legislation will ensure that a previous family violence battery conviction against the same victim or any family violence felony conviction against any household member would result in a subsequent family violence battery and would be punished as a felony.”
