Films that inspire with a mediocre script will often perform better at the box office than the most perfectly written movie script that deals in uncomfortable subject matter.
Otherwise how can you explain the box office performances of say, Pretty Woman, Flashdance, Top Gun and the like verses a classic like James Clavell’s The Last Valley starring Michael Caine as a brutal and clever captain who leads a band of mercenaries into a paradisiac German town during the horrific 30 year war.
There was not one wasted word in that script.
The latter bombed at the box office. I suppose a movie regarding the 30 year war can only inspire you to one thing.
Absolutely avoid it if it ever happens again.
Our beautiful Fitness Princess Jen Selter is full of inspiration and she dispenses it freely wherever she goes. She has taught Barbara Walters the art of the belfie (butt selfie) on the national show The View and Jen inspires over 2.5 million and growing Instagram followers.
At her dynamic site jenselter.com her bio is shared. “Jennifer “Jen” Selter (born August 8, 1993) is a social media star, advocate for fitness, healthy lifestyle, positive thinking & motivation from Roslyn Heights, Long Island, New York.
Selter has appeared in Elle, FHM, Muscle & Fitness, Vanity Fair and Maxim magazines. Selter was voted 82 in the top 99 Most Desirable Women 2014 by AskMen. Selter has more than 8M followers on her personal Instagram (@jenselter) and over 24 million followers across all of her social media assets.”
As you can guess, she has inspired the media to be obsessed as well.
The enjoyable site bodybuilding.com used its muscle to express, “Jen Selter may have the most recognizable posterior on the planet, thanks to her Instagram ‘belfies,’ or butt selfies.
The media giant nymag.com smiles, “When you open the April issue of Vanity Fair, which features the cast of Game of Thrones on the cover — a surprise almost as shocking as the Red Wedding awaits you inside. Jen Selter, the 20-year-old from Long Island who turned taking butt selfies into a viable career option, appears in a two-page spread in the magazine.”
Talk about getting your life off to a great start at such a young age.
If one industry giant wasn’t enough, then two giants shows you the magnitude of Jen’s gargantuan success. Vanity Fair gushes, “Selter’s derrière extraordinaire has made her a member of a rapidly rising subset of Instagram stars: young women unafraid to share their deeply bronzed, sculpted figures in neon spandex, who want to share their #fitsperation thanks to #cleaneating, #determination, #cardio, and so much more #hardwork. That’s right.
Selter is here to inspire.”
With all of these great things happening or I should say that is in response to Jen making things happen in a huge way, fashion queen Elle makes an announcement. “In probably the second most important news of the day (the first being Kim Kardashian’s wedding confessional, of course), it has officially been announced that Instagram fitness superstar Jen Selter landed herself a gig at the New York Post.
“With 3.3 million followers, Jen Selter is Instagram’s most famous butt. And now, she’ll be helping all New Yorkers get their dream derrière as the New York Post‘s fitness columnist,” the Post announced last night online.”
Instagram followers, media attention and now a dream job.
Tell me you are inspired. I know you are.
When was the last time that you have traveled to Long Island? Me? Never.
Let’s electronically go there now.
Long Island is an island located just off the northeast coast of the United States and a region within the U.S. state of New York. Stretching east-northeast from New York Harbor into the Atlantic Ocean, the island comprises four counties: Kings and Queens (these form the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens, respectively) to the west; then Nassau and Suffolk to the east.
This writer had heard of Long Island a million times but always assumed by the name that it was some ritzy small island near New York City. This is eye opening.
With a Census-estimated population of 7,804,968 in 2014, constituting nearly 40% of New York State’s population, Long Island is the most populated island in any U.S. state or territory, and the 18th-most populous island in the world (ahead of Ireland, Jamaica, and Hokkaidō).
If Long Island geographically constituted an independent metropolitan statistical area, it would rank fourth most populous in the United States; while if it were a U.S. state, Long Island would rank 13th in population and first in population density.
Both the longest and the largest island in the contiguous United States, Long Island extends 118 miles (190 km) eastward from New York Harbor to Montauk Point, with a maximum north-to-south distance of 23 miles (37 km) between Long Island Sound and the Atlantic coast.
This is amazing.
With a land area of 1,401 square miles (3,629 km2), Long Island is the 11th-largest island in the United States and the 148th-largest island in the world — larger than the 1,214 square miles (3,140 km2) of the smallest state, Rhode Island.
Two of the New York City metropolitan area’s three busiest airports, JFK International Airport and LaGuardia Airport, as well as two major air traffic control radar facilities, the New York TRACON and the New York ARTCC, are located on the Island. Nine bridges and 13 tunnels (including railroad tunnels) connect Brooklyn and Queens (and thus Long Island) to the three other boroughs of New York City. Ferries connect Suffolk County northward across Long Island Sound to the state of Connecticut. In addition, the Long Island Railroad is the busiest commuter railroad in North America and operates 24/7.
Thank you Wikipedia. I had no idea.
This is the sizable village that helped raise Jen.
Wait……here comes an update about Jen’s career.
Reflecting on the term “belfie”, the healthy site menshealth.com reports, “Many of us weren’t familiar with the term before Jen Selter, but a shade under 4 million Instagram followers later, the 20-year-old New York City resident is doing her damnedest to make sure everyone becomes familiar with it.
At 5-foot-6 and 112 pounds, she is a slight woman with a startlingly sizable caboose, one who has built a fervent following of women who want to be her and men who want to be with her.”
The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.…Kobe Bryant
Okay, I’m convinced that whatever Jen touches turns to gold.
She’s young, super sexy, smart, talented, innovative, doing well financially and very media savvy. If she makes the decision to star in or produce a film too, I sense it has a great chance to do extremely well at the box office.
Why? You already know.
Jen is inspiring.
